If we got El-P, Killer Mike, and that one 90s folk/pop singer from Alaska, w/ these guys, we could have Jewel Running the Jewels Turning Jewels Into Water..... and if Richard Jewell was still alive....

Pop-up player isn't working on a Chromebook. Not surprising, since Google is the nadir of tech quality.

@Dean- I know right, I told Apple I get it, it’s big and it just sorta kept its superiority over me.

I tell ya Monday’s.. we’ll on the bright side writing this made me lose my horse and I’m told there is a place I can go on Wednesdays for just that issue.

I thought the duo of Flag of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwa Jima was genius. Having two different films, one from the American, and one from the Japanese persepective (even if the latter wasn't a box office hit), me, being a history nerd who used to live in Japan. And, yes, I thought the Mule did it correct.

bueanas noches, rw!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm
Sam Segal:

Adios, RW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm

I still need to see those movies, NGH. They are high on my Eastwood list. My all-time favorite Clint flick is "The Bridges of Madison County." Top notch melodrama.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm

I don't mean to shock anyone, but I don't think I've watched a full Clint Eastwood movie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
doctorjazz:

I had a thing for a while, way back (when movies first were available on tapes), watching all his old movies,c which were fun. Of course, that was before he got into politics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm

Evening, Doc!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm
doctorjazz:

Hi, Sam!
Avatar 11:23pm
northguineahills:

@chresti: The Sergio Leone trilogy are amazing, especially the director's cuts. I'd start there. Paint The Town Red and The Man With No Name, almost have no dialog, yet, have much tension that builds to action. George Lucas ripped a lot from those films (and has admitted as much) as well as Kurosawa.
Avatar 11:28pm
northguineahills:

(the third, is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly)

Which reminds of another recommendation. The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. Takes place in pre-war Korea, Manchuria, and Siberia throught WWII. Historically sound, and, weird..... (Korean director, forgot the name). It's on one of those streaming services....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm
doctorjazz:

The Korean film sounds interesting, NGH! (How are you feeling these days?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm
doctorjazz:

Seen the others, but about 35 years ago or so...
🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:31pm
WR:

Pretty random that Clint Eastwood became a topic (i don't know the Richard Jewel reference) but agree with NGH about the Leone & WWII films being high points. The Leone films were so very influential that may diminish their impact and they are somewhat over the top but the two WWII films are intense portraits of the time and shines some light on what has been in the shadows. I've yet to watch the Charlie Parker bio pic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm
Sam Segal:

Thanks for the rec, NGH. This looks awesome.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm

Hahaha he does actually, Doc! At least his stage name does.

@dr jazz: My health has stopped getting worse, but I'll still need treatment to get my appearance back to normal. At least I'm not losing sheets of skin any more.

was watching a footie (soccer) game on mute (taking place in Miami, no fans), and an owl brought down a starling, started to eat it, the bounced to the keeper like, "come at me bro" (it was maybe 10 cm tall). When things are back to normal, I want to make an owl box w/ a camera.
Avatar 11:50pm
northguineahills:

here's the imdb: www.imdb.com...

it's available on Hulu and Prime....

Thanks ngh, I know I've seen scenes from those movies, but listened to the soundtrack more.
