So nice to see you continue here on Wednesdays, right where you belong @DJ Irwin. This works.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm

Before me, there was no such thing as Wednesday 3-6pm. They had to create me to fill the void.

Irwin, the Joe Frank works is something I look very forward to every other week. Thank you for introducing me to the wonder of his diatribe.
  4:44pm
Courtney of Morris:

I'm the one listening to joe frank at the gym
  4:46pm
Brendan:

This is Joe in his prime. Spot on pacing, tenor, breathing, microphonics and production. Just needs a touch of cowbell ( even thats a maybe).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm
Irwin:

Courtney - I've began doing that too. I loaded a bunch of eps in an iPod. It's the weirdest thing to listen to at a fitness center, a complete disconnect from what's going on around you, and it changes the mood of a workout.
  4:49pm
P-90:

Irwin: are you having fun, or have you really listened to Joe while working out? I might try that.
  4:52pm
Courtney of Morris:

Amen Irwin.
  4:58pm
P-90:

I was wondering which FMU DJ would score Arwen (and her Dad!)

Peter Lewis is the son of actress Loretta Young. So his daughter is her grand daughter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm
Irwin:

P-90: Like I said, it's weird. "Fun"? I dunno that working out at the gym is EVER fun. It's discipline, it's a challenge, it's keeping your moving parts moving.
  5:07pm
P-90:

@KP Wow.
  5:09pm
P-90:

@Irwin: I'm just so conditioned to thinking of listening to music for workouts, the idea of listening to something narrative is intriguing. I'll try it.
  5:09pm
tony seymour:

Yo Irwin: After 6 weeks of hurrikane outer band rain we alas have real sunshine today.....the trade winds are blowing again & paradise is like it should be....albeit it is WARMING up quite a bit in the pad.......& That is the Honolulu weather for today......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
Irwin:

P-90: Unless you're counting reps, it takes your mind off the "chore" of working out.
Avatar 5:12pm

Got here just in time for the instrospective breathy chick music. Heya Irwin and masses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm

Tony, mah man! Glad to hear the skies are clearing and that your archiving project is moving along.
  5:19pm

P90, Lewis was on "I've Got a Secret" and that was his secret.
  5:27pm
judy from croton:

Thanks, Irwin. Really like these guys. Heard you play Stephen Fierce, real cool.
You've thrown open another window yet again. That's redundant.
  5:28pm
tony seymour:

yeah man.....we added SUNY Buffalo to the mix today.....getting there a day at a time......will be heard in LAX this weekend on the freeways.....gotta hear how it all sounds while driving!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

This is a 7SD that ought to be a video episode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

On this day in 1620, the Pilgrims left Plymouth England, seeking religious freedom. I had forgotten that until I noticed The Pilgrim Travelers. I wonder if they'd consider coming here in 2015 or just try to buy their own island somewhere.
Avatar 5:40pm
Carmichael:

Wow, I haven't heard Phil Ochs in a looooong time. I think The Bells was the last song.
  5:42pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- & I don't know this production of this (not this album)...needless to say, he's a Poet, not just a 'Journalist'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm
Parq:

There's a live version, just Phil and a guitar, on a comp that was released in 1978 -- I always preferred that to this orchestrated version. Either way, it's a devastating song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm
Irwin:

This is the strangest thing Phil ever recorded. Joseph Byrd was the mastermind behind the United States of America (Columbia, 1968). Electronic freakout behind Phil.
  5:43pm
P-90:

KP: So Peter Lewis is also the half-brother of Loretta Young's "secret" daughter with Clark Gable. If I knew this about the Moby Grape guy, I'd forgotten it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm
Irwin:

It almost sounds like a mashup of Ilhan Mimaroglu and Phil Ochs.
  5:44pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- ah! - that Joseph Boyd.

I'm sorry, 1976, not '78. This:

  5:46pm
P-90:

This is wild. Great production and very "progressive" for Ochs. What year? The Psychedelic Era for sure...
  5:53pm
rw:

Yeah, that Ochs song is a good one. I also like the one about the Scorpion never returning. I keep trying to get my (mostly younger) friends to listen to Ochs, but nobody seems to get it.
  5:54pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Phil Ochs doc:

Protest music isn't "in" anymore, rw. I grew up with early Dylan, Peter Paul & Mary, etc ... Out of vogue now, I'm afraid.

This sax is dripping with salaciousness.
  5:57pm

Charmichael, my 20 yr old daughter just saw Don't Look Back in her documentary film class the other day. Seems she was pretty impressed. Good sign, in my opinion.
Avatar 5:58pm

Wow, good music here. I'm looking for the old stripper ...
  5:58pm

RR1163, Thanks! I didn't know that existed. Jazzed about viewing it soon.
  5:58pm

That was some high-class tassel-twirling music.
