OK, I recognize Irwin, but who's the big dumb-looking guy, & who let him into the Berra Lanes?

R.I.P. Yogi Berra. “Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours.”

Not a baseball fan here, but I love (the myth of) Yogi Berra. However, I confuse attribution of the bons mots of Berra, Casey Stengel, and Sam Goldwyn. But not Steven Wright.
  3:56pm
Alison Porchnik:

Isn't there a book of poetry or something out there?
  3:57pm

Yogi Berra "died on a day like any other day, only shorter."

An appropriate Yogi-ism for political season: "We agree differently."

Alison - don't know about Yogi but there is a Rizzuto poetry book.

There are also at least two other books of poetry about the Yankees: The Ripening of Pinstripes, by Rodney Torreson; and A Poetic Tribute to the 1978 World Champions New York Yankees, by Louis Krapin.

"I Really Didn't Say Everything I Said" is a good book of Yogi-isms.

'Scuse me for bragging, but I gotta tell someone - my kid just won her first serious skirmish with a landlord. Fine show, as usual, Irwin.
  4:49pm
Kross:

Back in the 70's during a particularly bad drought in my small SW Iowa community, an eccentric local farmer brought a group of Hopi Native Americans to our local football field to do a traditional rain dance. Though many scoffed, the day after that ceremony, a large rain fell and the crops were saved. Doubters were forced to put it in their peace pipes and smoke it.
  4:50pm
Dean:

Your kid was tenant, Parq, or tenant's counsel? And congratulations, in either case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
Parq:

Tenant, Dean. 25. First home after ours. I'm pretty damn proud of her. Thanks for letting my puff my chest on Irwin's playlist.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm

Is Ike Quebec from Quebec? Maybe I could go by Ike Maryland, but that doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
  5:02pm
Laura L:

David Garland--hooray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm
Parq:

Monica, hah! For years, she had pet rats -- cute white and grey guys with terrific personalities. Pretty much any time we told people about this, the looks on their faces made it very clear that they thought we were talking about sewer rats. Now that a sewer rat is the toast of the town, we feel completely vindicated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm
Irwin:

Two drummers on this Rivers recording - one on the L, one on the R.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm
Irwin:

Danke.
  5:33pm
P-90:

@Laura L.: I was about to say the same thing, it had a lot of that "Industrials" sound
Only thing I could find about it in a quick search is that it was copyrighted in 1970.

P-90:

And a fab shot of Wee Irwin with Yogi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm

LL: It's from a CD compiled by Otis Fodder on Happi Tyme Records, 2001.

Laura L:

Bitte sehr. Poor Klauschen. He sings, "when I'm too old too dream, then your kiss will live on in my heart."
  5:39pm
Laura L:

Otis Fodder knows some industrial musicals! Speaking of industrials--if anybody has friends in L.A. who'd want to know: Steve Young's doing his industrial musicals night in LA, with Eleni Mandell and Don Bolles too--9/29. http://www.cinefamily.org/films/special-events-september-2015/#industrial-musicals-w-live-dj-set-from-don-bolles-of-the-germs
