At the end of Charles Mingus's disastrous Town Hall concert, the producers told the hall workers to start taking down microphones and music stands while the musicians were still on stage, to avoid paying overtime. The musicians and audience was baffled, and no one knew what to do. Clark Terry started playing "In a Mellow Tone," and the entire band joined in to end the concert on a positive note. (I believe.)

Hi DJpeterDE, I'm fine, the test was a false positive (had a positive rapid test, then 2 negative PCR tests, which are more accurate but take longer). The worst thing was quarantining in a small bedroom for a week (but I did get room service left outside my door, had it's advantages)

Her approach to solo guitar is a bit like Joe Pass, in that they are basically pick players, not finger style, and use single note runs alternating with well voiced chords. They sound quite different, of course...

My earlier statements about Louth were completely correct. However, the Louth Contemporary Music Society actually comes from Louth, Ireland, outside of Dundalk, just below Northern Ireland. So, even more kudos to them!

I'm finding that it hard to shape thoughts and impressions into comments I'm comfortable with putting into the world, even in this small welcoming corner of the drummer stream. not out of fear of other reactions, out of concern over incomplete and possibly misleading due to fragmentation.
