Story goes that Gene Vincent liked to drink while listening to Be-Bop music and reading Littlle Lulu comics. That's how he came to write Be Bop A Lula!

The Emerald Record Shop of Rock Falls, Illinois, is long defunct. Specialized in country and rockabilly records. Used to carry some guitars, too. JW

Hubig, it’s not strictly Cockney per se, but in line with the reference to Carry On films above, practise saying “Ooh, Matron!” in response to a smutty double-entendre. (Correct deployment can be gleaned online from vintage clips of Kenneth Williams).
I have a few video tapes of Oakland A's games from the early 1970s.

All cities have had an ugly racial past. However, there was something about Philadelphia's history. The Phillies manager at the time was especially hateful towards Jackie Robinson. Similarly, the Phillies fans used to throw things at Allen, so much so that he wore a batting helmet in field to protect himself. If he hadn't had to deal with all of that hatred and ugliness, he could have compiled Hall of Fame stats. There is a great Sports Illustrated cover with him in the White Sox dugout, juggling baseballs while smoking.
Oh, I was just thinking of this cuz Michael Shelly played three best guitar solo ever. Rex, you previously described this sax solo as the Best solo. Now it’s the worst? What gives?

spodi, yes. But like an idiot, I deleted the e-mail from Stashu with the actual karaoke track attached. So I tried practicing against the original. It's going to be a complete disaster. Fortunately, Kate will be on hand to redeem the household. And we'll need it. I should have just done "Subdivisions"!
Thanks all! Don't forget the Fool's Paradise Xmas Special next Saturday from 1-3PM. Plenty of novelty record nonsense and a custom Christmas Cocktail crafted LIVE on the air!
