	10:28pm Franco Twinkie: I have mixed feelings about colorization. I get the argument for leaving the fuck alone with with classic shit, but at the same time I really enjoy the nerve of poring paint all over stuff just to see what it'll looks like.

	10:31pm still b/p: A lot of ancient marble statues WERE painted in fairly garish now-faded/rubbed-off colors, but it would certainly assault the eye today. Some of the film colorizations done a few decades ago by Turner's outfit were terrible. I remember Katherine Hepburn's mouth and lips in The Philadelphia Story looking like she'd binged on grape popsicles.

	11:11pm still b/p: That Montgomery Clift clip back there in the mix from I Confess...the film is discussed regarding an actor vs. director moment in Truffaut's interviews with Hitchcock. Clift wanted to do something in a particular shot that would make sense in his acting of the character's thought and reaction. Hitchcock sez, no, I need you to look up like I'm telling you for the shot, so the visual mechanics of the story make sense as the audience is following it. And that's Hitchcock.

	11:30pm coelacanth∅: i don't really know Danny. i thought american cars started to be ugly across the board by c.1975. then the japanese cars (there were no other asian cars here then!) started looking like shit then the european cars by the mid-80s? i think the first time since then that i looked at an american car and thought it was pretty good looking must've been the early 2000s. but yeah they're mostly pretty ugly again!

	11:49pm coelacanth∅: that's pretty awesome. i had a car that would stall out occasionally while driving full-speed; any speed. i'd coast to the side, get out and turn the distributor, start it and go. after a few times i just stopped tightening the distributor. eventually (when i went to buy a new rotor and points) i found out it was a bmw distributor -in a 69 volvo.

	10:31pm still b/p: A lot of ancient marble statues WERE painted in fairly garish now-faded/rubbed-off colors, but it would certainly assault the eye today. Some of the film colorizations done a few decades ago by Turner's outfit were terrible. I remember Katherine Hepburn's mouth and lips in The Philadelphia Story looking like she'd binged on grape popsicles.

	11:49pm coelacanth∅: that's pretty awesome. i had a car that would stall out occasionally while driving full-speed; any speed. i'd coast to the side, get out and turn the distributor, start it and go. after a few times i just stopped tightening the distributor. eventually (when i went to buy a new rotor and points) i found out it was a bmw distributor -in a 69 volvo.
