Welcome one and all!
Big day in Jazz: Louisville born Marshall Allen turns 96!
Archie Shepp was 82 yesterday and Jimmy Cobb passed today at 91.
Lots of good music to play tonight. Enjoy

Yay. OHH. Someone memorable shuffles off the old mortal coil everyday lately. Okay, be happy...be happy...I will be happy. About 20 years ago a saw a great Marshall Allen & Terry Adams (NRBQ) duet show in a tiny place, here in Toronto. Super fun! At the end, they opened a stage door at the side of the building and led everyone out into a vacant building lot...held the door for everyone

Saw The Arkestra many times in multiple NYC venues in the 80s and 90s, jazz clubs, punk dives, they were always a blast!

Hope all are well. Said goodbye to my students 5-12 grades last Thursday - it was surreal. Wanted to be at the graduation... but alas. Tomorrow is our "final" meeting of the school year.
I will take about 10 days then I am back in - excited for this time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm

Been doing some reorganizing of stuff - as I call it moving shit around.

Now you should be able to relax a little bit, Kim???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm
KimSorise:

yes - for a bit. it will be nice. I have slowed down since the quarantine but it's been more mental exhaustion
  8:24pm
CC:

seeing all of the news footage of people acting like idiots and not social distancing or being careful at all... makes me cringe!!!

Happy Memorial Day ...by the way..!..

CC:

this war against the virus this year should get a special mention from now on!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm
KimSorise:

Yeah - I kind of forgot that it was Memorial Day until I ran to school earlier to pick up some files.
I have not really been watching news etc out side the occasional Atlantic article - Worried about 40plus kids of my own with reading writing executive skills issues, plus access to internet, materials, electricity, food etc. and they need to do school work - and a lot of it.
We can all settle for a minute.

100 degrees here. In the pool and bbq-ing.

It was about 89 -90 with 70% humidity all day... it's gross out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm
StringOFperils:

This heat, and this jam...whew, summer just began. Only downside is I scorched all of my dear one's flowers out front today while I was working on the house, and she's out of town for a bit. Those WERE nice daffodils. I can't do right.
  8:45pm
JtotheK:

Nice patti jo mix ... hiya Kim digging the tunes! Hi everyone.

Gina Bacon:

Oh dear, StringOfPerils! How?
  8:49pm
Carmichael:

@string, new daffodils! Quickly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm
StringOFperils:

Hi Gina. It gets direct sun out front of our little abode here, and I should have watered that a lot early today, instead of 45 minutes ago. I hd our big wooden front door laid down inside so I could repair and paint it...tomorrow also (this is pretty boring, forgive me). Nice big orange poppy bought the farm as well. Haven't recalibrated my 'routine' for this heat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm
StringOFperils:

New daffodil scam.....hmmm...too much sitcom hijinx...that'll come back to bite me in the a**. she's gonna berate me for hanging on the FMU.
