Julie, yes, you can.

I don't know, you may need a Ltd. in there to qualify

hey hey, this is one of the songs where a recorder becomes an actual musical instrument instead of a simple annoyance, I just love this!!! What a great cover. JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woohoo!
Avatar 12:27pm
edelkakao cha cha:

I remember I never got into Duran Duran early 80s, something about them annoyed me. And when I heard Quiet Life lp by Japan, I realised, OK this is where they stole all the good stuff from. Except Japan is a zillion times better. It is simple perfection.
Avatar 🦇 12:30pm
Julie:

they are a band I'd definitely like to know better, and I usually enjoy his solo stuff.
Avatar 12:37pm
edelkakao cha cha:

I like the earlier David Sylvian solo stuff, Blemish for instance is a bit too hard stuff for me. I really should get into the earlier Japan, but anything from Quiet Life to Tin Drum (well yes, there is only Gentlemen Take Polaroids plus a few singles between those two releases) is music you won't regret listening to.

I'm usually snowbirding to the Redneck Riviera this time of year. Couldn't pull it off financially this year. Being by the water always helps the allergies and the sun helps the soul.

I gotta have sun in the winter. I have that seasonal affective disorder thing. I'm an independent consultant, and my work load can go way down in the winter because I don't feel like chasing work. I get more done when I head south because I feel better and the trip basically pays for itself that way -- I even came out ahead a couple years. The problem that arises is paying for the place up front. It's still off-season in PCB so it's really reasonable, just getting that cash together is the challenge.

  2:49pm
P-90:

Wind and Wuthering was the last “real” Genesis album before the turn to the pop/commercial style that succeeded so well in the 80s (starting with And Then There Were Three.) W and W is also notable because it’s the second album after Peter Gabriel left, and Genesis really surpassed all expectations by producing those two albums, with Phil Collins singing lead, arguably without any decline in quality despite Gabriel’s departure.
