Cory booker was funding middle-c catholic priests to preach at newark city hall, I wonder what goes on there nowadays that Amiri Baraka's son is in charge

Good evening, everyone! Lots of short songs to begin, so sorry for meager attention paid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm

Don't worry about us, Gaylord, do your magic!

Makes me wonder what DJs did with all the slack time in the WFMU prog era.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm

Haha, Gaylord! The shocking truth about the depraved behind-the-scenes goings-on at 70s FMU.
  8:19pm
JakeGould:

You know what I miss about 1970s hippie culture and malls? “Wicks and Sticks.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm

Drugs, then naps?

I'm pretty sure I know what the prog-era DJs were doing with their extra space time.

  8:28pm
JakeGould:

@melinda: You know that’s a lie since that would be a fire hazard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Mr. Pumpy:

Ghost sounds like a Japanese Espers...or the other way around...
  8:29pm
choggie:

this kind of sounds like the guy who sings Goodbye moonmen from the Rick and Morty series
  8:30pm
Dean:

I know what one punk era DJ did with his extra space time. Richard Meltzer wrote a poem that starts with a line about playing "Sister Ray" to give him enough time to use the potty at KPFK. Once, I was in studio with him when he played Cupol's "Kluba Cupol." He said something like, "This next track is about 17 minutes long," then played the track. Within seconds after the track ended -- and this is well after midnight -- a listener calls to report, "The track lasted 20 minutes and 28 seconds."

Mod Mokka Matti:

Good Evening! Just got back in from the field - uh, no, make that the landscaped subdivided suburban tract - where I've been out gardening with Gaylord streaming through my OG mid-'80s Fisher boombox, for all the unaware passers-by in my 'hood to hear. I must say that this first hour's set has been positively sparkling - dare I say, smashing. Thank you, sir, and WFMU, for being there for those of us who couldn't care less about what everyone else is fixated on today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm

  9:05pm
John from Florham park:

Mod mokka amen to that , this station is better then watching the super bowl
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm
Gaylord Fields:

I cannot think of a better love song about dishwashing than "Sharing Wishes."
  9:06pm
Dean:

I have to be fixated on what everyone else is fixated on because my two kids are each at parties devoted to same, and I have to retrieve them when same has ended. In the meantime at home I've played more Stan Getz (inspired by Jeff G.'s tribute this a.m.), a lovely guitar duet recital I'd forgotten in my collection, and now this show. I also prepared enchiladas for when the better half returns tonight from work.

So grateful the Super Bowl only takes place every twelve years.
  9:11pm
John from Florham park:

@Dean I hate to tell you this but the super bowl is every year
  9:12pm
Dean:

What?! I thought only the commercials and half time show were annual!
  9:15pm
John from Florham park:

@Dean ha ha

Thanks Mr. Pumpy, all good here. Trying to keep from eating absolutely everything I brought back from a Cajun grocery in Lafayette yesterday: boudin balls, crawfish boudin balls, fresh cracklings, smoked rabbit sausage, smoked venison sausage.

Nice one, Binary Superbowl!

Oops, my bad. It is 110110.

When I was in high school and had to tell my dad I dropped out of Algebra (he was big on college prep) He just looked at me and in an exasperated and weary tone of voice asked me "So what do want to do with yourself, be an artist bum that lays around on the beach all day?" I thought to myself - That's exactly what I want to be! And so, it came to pass.
