I'm sorry, but the Greater Boston pedant in me insists that I clarify that the Prudential Center is not the same as Boston Garden. The Prudential was the tallest building in Boston for many years, prior to the John Hancock building. Boston Garden was the sports/concert arena which I think is now known as TD Bank Garden :P

One of our college friends was Mark Ramlo from Ohio. We immediately gave him the nickname Ramrod. He owned records from Missing Persons and other bands like them.

What was the quote on this very Program? :
The Groovies are as if the Stones were based on Sun Records instead of Chess ??
Did I read that @ some point Keith Richards actually said the Groovies were better ???
I know I say :
The Flamin' Groovies fill a very important & particular space between original 1960s Garage & 1970s Punk
- & werpe / are one of Thee Definitive U.S. American Rawk (& Roll) Bands.

@rich: I love Missing Persons! "Mental Hopscotch" is one of my favorite 80s songs. I had no idea till much later that they had that Zappa connection.

I mentioned Missing Persons because about all I knew of music was AM radio with bands like ZZ Top and Steve Miller Band, for example. So hearing Spring Session M was a fascinating experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm

@martyh Can you describe what you're doing and what you see when you try to play audio in Chrome? Are you clicking on the Pop-Up player link, or one of the stream links? (128k AAC, 128k MP3, etc.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm
mariano:

@martyh: Don't worry, you have 21 years (and counting) of archives to explore. I'm using Chrome too, and don't have any problems. I'm no IT guy, but it seems like it would be more of a problem with your computer's sound settings than with your browser. Does the sound work on other browsers? Finally, because this seems to solve so much in general, tried restarting?
  5:03pm
martyh:

@mariano: Sound works on other sites using chrome; just having probs with this site.
