	10:44pm Dean: Tonight's theme reminds me of a song written by a talented friend of mine, John Feodorov, whose song "My Favorite Song" was titled precisely to require DJs who spun it to announce that each had just played "my favorite song." Thus, while it wasn't strictly about DJs, it was intended to engage them semantically.

	10:48pm Dean: Of course, and then there's the wild assumption that any DJ would play the tune in the first place. But it was, in fact, very good.

	11:16pm rw: We were wondering at work the other day if the Ks and Ws had any meaning other than regional designation. I mean, does the K stand for somehting?

	11:21pm Dean: That's hella for sure, though eventually somebody might know. I'm interested in the literature addressing causality, which gets to this issue. A student at my son's middle school saw me yesterday at school wearing a WFMU t-shirt. She remarked upon it favorably. I took the opportunity to explain that the letters were call letters to identify the station. Sales died ten years ago yesterday, so reports Wikipedia.
	11:26pm coelacanth∅: Larry i just read that Wolfman Jack was on wnbc starting in 1973, as well as occasionally hosting the midnight special. i would've known him from the midnight special but my sister probably knew him from wnbc as well. he also did armed forces radio which was syndicated and widely distributed (as one would assume)
	11:28pm doctorjazz: My daughter's boyfriend was amazed when he saw SOMEONE ELSE in an FMU tee...he thought I was the only person around that listened to it (I assured him at least the 10 folks who post here listen...)

	11:29pm Dean: Two kids have commented on my WFMU t-shirts, and one adult. For the latter, I was walking up California in SF. A guy passing me said, "WFMU, cool!"

	11:33pm doctorjazz: That Same daughter "liberated" my Woof Moo sweatshirt (the dog and the cow). She doesn't listen, but just loved the jacket (do kids listen to radio? Mine just listen to Spotify on their phones for music).
	11:33pm coelacanth∅: i get comments all the time. rarely from kids but often from people probably in their 20s. ...if you were looking for me in my town and the person was local but didn't know me by name you could just say "the guy who wears all the wfmu tshirts"
	11:34pm Dean: One person asked me if it meant "Whole Foods Management University," no kidding.
	11:35pm coelacanth∅: i live in a semi-rural collage town and lots of people assume it's just an animal/farm-friendly image!
	11:37pm Dean: I live in Berkeley, and it's same.
	11:37pm Erica: Sorry my computer screen went black and I couldn't fix it. Had to turn the laptop off and on again.

	11:56pm rw: Coel, I remember that! Only semi-related and completely irrelevant, as a kid I was driving a dump truck down the fwy and saw an overturned dump truck on the other side. Thought to myself, "That looks like Kent's truck. The nice new one that everybody wants to drive". Of course it WAS Kent's nice truck. Load spread out all over the place causing a traffic jam.

Thus, while it wasn't strictly about DJs, it was intended to engage them semantically.
