We just need 40 or 50 more clicky-stars for "Mr. Giant Man" for it to obliterate that drooling moron Don Felder's lunkheaded soft-rock ode that plagues us every Tuesday! Let's go, people!

{ uh oh, "THE SOLAR WIND HAS ARRIVED: A fast-moving stream of solar wind is engulfing Earth today, with speeds near 600 km/s (1.2 million mph). This is causing minor geomagnetic storms, bright auroras around the Arctic Circle, and vibrations in our planet's magnetic field that amateur scientists can detect using backyard sensors. This unsettled space weather could continue through March 1st as our planet moves through the unusually wide stream." spaceweather.com }

Excuse me, Fabio. Is Seven Beauties the movie where Giancarlo Gianinni has to swim in a tank of human shit after fucking a big fat Nazi prison guard?
Avatar 3:42pm

oh, wait, I also heard of the Black Klansmen by Spike Lee (I rarely go to the cinema, what's the point (I'm not in NYC).

sadly, i stopped going to cinemas at some point when movies became expensive enough to require down-payments & financing options.

I usually hit up matinee shows, makes it a little more affordable.
Avatar 3:46pm
still b/p:

There was a fella in Seven Beauties who jumped into the waste tank to deliberately -- defiantly or despairingly -- off himself, but did Gianinni's character get immersed in same...medium?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm

-also we have a $3 theater nearby, for the more mainstream-y stuff.

I use to work next door to a chop shop. Stolen cars would come in the morning, and by the afternoon they were pieced out. The guy who ran it was a drug mule who died in jail when a balloon full of heroin exploded in his stomach.

@Franco: Hey, but what a way to go!
Avatar 3:50pm
Fabio:

@ still b/p: That was another character played by the Great Fernando Rey, who was in a few of Bunuel's films. yeah, he commits suicide in protest by diving into a communal toilet/cesspool. it's a really harsh scene.

FEEL BETTER FABIO!!!!!! and if you cannot shake *whatever* it is, PLEASE get it checked out (i am totally turning into everyone's creepy old hypochondriacal Grandma; i thought i just had a flu or stomach virus, ended up in the hospital)
true, the Oscars were pretty awful but not nearly as BORING as the Grammys -- UGH!
and, FINALLY got to see "Roma"! i completely fell in love with the film -- and yeah, i will probably watch it on netflix, but i really thought it deserved to be seen in a proper theater first :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
Cmurtha:

I am Lucky that Columbus has a theatre that gets a good mix of films and I can go for 5-7.50 bucks, less if I get them in advance. Art films, old stuff, mainstream. Its nice its owned by the college. I I don't take advantage of it enough. Its a shame there's nothing good playing in Turkey or else I could got to the movie, and get popcorn for 14 lira or like 2.80 dollars?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm
Franco Twinkie:

Still b/p I know I could've google it, but I like to check my memory just to see how mixed up I am. I saw it when it first came out, and never again.

I saw Doris Wishman do a talk after a screening of her epic, Nude On The Moon and some other thought provoking movie of hers. During the Q&A she was remarkably humorless about how they were perceived by viewing public. A funny and unsettling evening at the movies.
