Welcome Welcome James and All! Enjoy

Hey all! First day back from 3 week trip (1 week Thailand, 2 weeks biking in Vietnam). Spent the day sleeping/recovering-back to the regular gig tomorrow.
Nice to hear some Global Grease again! (internet pretty poor out there, and time was 12 hours ahead, making some shows difficult to listen to in real time).

Welcome back, Doc Jazz!

KimSorise:

Hey UM - Hope all is well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
Uncle Michael:

Well, that store bought pie was kinda meh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
KimSorise:

Well after seeing your pies, why would you buy one at the store?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm
Uncle Michael:

Wasn't my idea.
Avatar 8:04pm
northguineahills:

Super, doctorjazz! So jealous. Been to Thailand a lifetime ago, desperately want to hit Vietnam.

@UM: If I bump into you, not only will I buy you a pint, I'll make you a Mexi-Cornish savory pie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm
Uncle Michael:

Kind of you NGH. I keep thinking I'll make the jump to savory pies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
Uncle Michael:

So, Kim...there's more than one Orpheus?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm
doctorjazz:

Hey, NGH, it was very interesting! People in Vietnam really nice to us (I was worried they might not cotton to Americans). Lots of museums and other monuments to the "American" war, as they call it.
Avatar 8:09pm
northguineahills:

Wee, not to be confused w/ the NYC band We (tm)
Avatar 8:12pm
northguineahills:

I was 12 in Thailand. As per usual, I made my family hit all of the cultural/religious/historical/natural sites there. So, my experience was rather different then some adults today. (Museums are a must for me).

@UM: (The wife makes the dessert pies)

Thailand time was limited, just some time in Chiang Mai, including a few days at the Elephant Rescue Park there. Great place, the Rescue park, the elephants are ones that were abused, overworked, otherwise injured and brought to the park to recover and then just live in an open space with other elephants. They're fascinating animals-they form clicks and family units, and can be like middle school girls, spurning other elephants who want to enter their group.
Great place to visit.

Avatar 8:52pm
northguineahills:

I got my wife to quit five years ago at 35. I still have a monthly cigarette w/ a drink (and the nicotine lights me up, as I have no tolerance), but I went five years w/o touching it after I quit just to make sure I wasn't addicted.
Avatar 8:54pm
northguineahills:

yeah, Kim, super rad, I had friends that have gone 5 years or more trying to quit before they did

The first time I quit, I ate sunflower seeds and smoked pot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
KimSorise:

THanks - I would say yes, it took about 5 years off and on to finally put them down. I am about 99% sure I am truly done this time, but it takes work
Avatar 8:58pm
northguineahills:

Merci, Kim, feliz navidad! Gerald is still doing Dopplereffekt!
