This is our chance to share our Stephin Merritt stories: in the late 80s, I taped songs from a college radio station, but I never taped the banter. One ethereal song got to me, and years later I became a DJ at same station with the crazed hopes that I would find That Song. When the station lost its storage space and had to dump 1000s of CDs, I took as many as my van could carry. And within that treasure trove was That Song: If I Were Napoleon, on Distant Trees. Someday I'll find the person worth singing that to.

My wife just called, we have a new hornets nest on the garage near the patio. I will attack it tonight when they are sleeping. Chemical attack. Maybe I will sprinkle holy water on it and pray first to protect me from their painful stings. I did that once before, and it worked, they slept as they died.
