It's all free-form, but if pressed, I'd probably say there are roughly three divisions into which you can place most FMU shows: weird pop, weird noise, and weird rock & soul. My favorite is weird noise. That's this show, Bryce, Daniel Blumin, and a few others. Oh wait, there's also weird metal. Also some like Olivia are crossovers. Hmmm. My attempt at classification may already be a FAILURE, as any such attempt re: FMU will inevitably be.

@NGH, ugh, that's a tough one. Mostly weird noise (but that requires a very broad definition of "weird noise") and weird pop, I guess. But also some other stuff.
Avatar 4:27pm
northguineahills:

@ike: You also forgot the ethnic folk music, world pop music, and world dance music shows.

Hey everyone. I have a perception of time tip if you are at work and your shift is ending. If you listen to music while you work and think okay I am off in 30 minutes, don’t play that 29 minute album that you love. I tried that today with the Lemonheads “it’s a shame about ray.” 29 minutes 14 songs. What could go wrong? It was the longest 29 minutes of my life. After the first four songs were over I thought okay 15 minutes left. Wrong! Four minutes had past. It was torture and I may never play that album again. It took hours for that 29minute CD to finish.
