This feels good, just listened to the archived version of Doug's show last night, sad...

Good ear, it is Paul Winchell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm

He had to work around his voice work to invent an artificial heart valve!

This fan of 60s industrial-pep-talk records and full chorus/orchestra ad jingles also digs the interstitials.

Pays to be able to look outside the box! Although it didn't help stop that pigeon.

@doctorjazz, nice that you listened to Doug's show last night! All our thoughts are with him. <3

First time i realized "Talk" is a verb in this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Amanda:

@LJfW, funny story -- I was inspired to use this gif after hearing a pigeon cooing on my windowsill this morning. He was very loud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm

noun and verb, KP...depending

Amanda, if Dick Dastardly got lysergic, that GIF's what he'd see!

The bass line is insane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
listener james from westwood:

I have a drainage pipe by my office window that's hosted generations of mourning doves. This year's first crew just returned, along with their own brand of loud cooing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm
Dominick:

I'm of the opinion that Star Collector is really sped up. Like 10 to 15 %. Just sounds unnatural. Davy is exceedingly chirpy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

Hey 'manda!
What episodes did I miss on Monday?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm

I gave my love a chicken, that had no bones...mmmm, chicken.

@Dominick, that's a solid theory.

@Greg, we talked about Three Men and a Comic Book (which I'll be discussing today too), The Canine Mutiny (which I LOVE), and a joint from s18 named "Please, Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

Aw, man! So bummed I missed it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Amanda:

By the way, the final chorus of "Green Eggs" is sung by the fox, hounds, and the goat.
  12:59pm
for pete's sake:

Playing bass on "Star Collector" was indeed Chip Douglas says Wikipedia page for the Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones . . . this page also answers months ago question, that "Peter Percival Patterson's Pet Pig Porky" was taught to Peter by Judy Mayhan, whom he was managing at the time. Peter admits it was public domain, but when Screen Gems asked who wrote it he gave his name (which he could do, as 'arranger' of the piece) . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Mike East:

I want to hear "You Need Confidence" again. May have to go back to archives later

Thank you for the Peter lore! I was always kind of confused about that myself!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Mike East:

This single is the only Husker Du I own...I probably should have done something about that by now. I gotta get some Sugar, too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm
Amanda:

Yes! I support this plan @Mike East.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Uncle Michael:

Sugar is the fucking bomb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm
listener james from westwood:

Ooh, great ep. And correct on the adventurous cinematography in this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
listener james from westwood:

All of my crew at the time were comics freaks so this ep was a GAS when we first saw it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm

KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello Nazariots. Always luv the Simpsons Re-Educations, Amanda. Including twice in 48 hours!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm

"Pennywhistles and moonpies…"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
listener james from westwood:

Or a role-playing game store owner, truth be told.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I like the part where Homer is in his chair and Marge asks him if the boys are alright. Lightning flashes and the boys are fighting, almost falling out of the tree house. Homer says something like "They're fine."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm
listener james from westwood:

Plus it planted the seed for a similarly epic episode by introducing Radioactive Man. And included a veiled Bob Crane ref.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
listener james from westwood:

HOLY crap that Wonder Years bit. One of my friends nearly choked on food when that started while we were watching.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
