LOVE this BB Xmas song!!
I love that about Brian Wilson production anyway, what I call the "sleigh bells on the beach" vibe.

HI Therese! Hi listeners! Happy holiday season to everyone!

Are we going to get the scratchy "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" organ bed music tonight? I look forward to that every December now! :)

Hello Therese. Hello all. Good tidings.

Maybe we’ll hear that song about Paul McCartney simply having a wonderful Christmas time?

Love the simplicity of that song. And that's enough.

Jake, that was...necessary, actually.
In two years she'll be half his age!

Not too sure about the time parallax between Dick Van Dyke and his lady friends but I trust your judgement on this.

"Amphetamine Reptile Records" - perfect label name for this B-52ish band.

JakeGould:

@Therese: I am looking forward to seeing if Chewbacca (1) wears a jacket or (2) rips somebody’s arm off in the new “Star Wars.”
Avatar 1:52am
Matt from Springfield:

A vest-jacket, right? Open front, with the arms exposed?
And yes, single-gesture arm-rips would definitely seal the deal.
  1:54am
JakeGould:

@MattfromSpringfield: I don’t know what kind of jacket Chewbacca might wear, but I want him in a jacket. And I here the way he rips an arm off is Rey (the girl) gets her gun taken away from her by some alien, and Chewbacca rips off the alien’s arm and gives her the arm with the gun back. If that happens… I’m screaming!
Avatar 1:54am
Therese:

I thought that Wookiies only ripped arms off if they lose at space chess?
Avatar 1:55am
Matt from Springfield:

Oooh! Is this from a Joe McG "Joe" premium?
  1:57am
JakeGould:

@Therese: Yeah, they said that in the first movie but maybe it’s space chess related. Like Rey is playing space chess, she wins, an alien gets pissed and takes her gun and Chewbacca growls and rips the arm off. It’s completely conceivable.
Avatar 1:57am
Therese:

It is! Joe McGasko makes awesome Christmas compilations.
Avatar 1:59am
Matt from Springfield:

Woohoo! Joe McG has great taste anyhow, glad he included a good soul cut for his comp!

I look forward to such Chewy justice.
  2:01am
JakeGould:

@Matt: In one scene in the trailers, Chewbacca clearly has a new messenger bag and in one scene a bandage on his right arm. So hey.
Avatar 2:02am

@Therese: You are going to deny your nephew that extended Sy Snootles blues bar yacht rock sequence in the revamped “Return of the Jedi.”
  2:03am

@slowbear: Yup. The whole premises of those prequels are just wretched. None can stand on their own.

The "Happy Xmas" single b/w this is prob the greatest John/Yoko single pairing ever. In terms of context it's as good as any John/Paul Beatles 45.

"War Is Over" b/w "Peace Is Here"
War Is Over (If You Want It) b/w Peace Is Here (If You Want It)
It's *beautiful*, i tell ya! :D

JakeGould:

I actually sat down this past summer to write down some childhood memories and wrote down my memories of seeing all of the original “Star Wars” films in a movie theater. My memories of “Return of the Jedi” were basically… “What is this crap?” The second that guy with the head tentacles (Bib Fortuna) met R2-D2 and C3P0 in Jabba’s palace and said, “De wanga wanga” I couldn’t take the film seriously anymore. youtu.be...

My lucky good news for Christmas is that on Sunday afternoon, I found the 24V transformer that powers the fiber-optic tabletop decoration. No need to go off to Radio Shack to try to find a new one.

It's warmer on the East Coast than it is on the West Coast. Weird.
  2:46am
JakeGould:

@Ken: Do you mean 24 Volts? Or 24 Watts? Because as far as tons of consumer computer tech goods go, it seems tons of AC adapters are 12 Volts at 2 Amps… Aka… 24 Watts. You could probably go to any thrift store and rifle through the cable and transformer bin to find at least one 12 Volt/2 Amp AC adapter.

@Jake - It's 24VAC at 2 Amps. The part that puzzles me is how the tree part of decoration was in its box up in the attic and the transformer was in a pile of random electronics down in the basement. At least they're reunited now and I can make sure they stay together for next year.
