I've been looking at this "raccoon" story. PSE&G have not said how they knew it was a raccoon. Did they go to the substation, open the door, and a raccoon ran out? Do they have it on video? Methinks this raccoon was merely a media-friendly PR invention, a furry little diversion from the question of human error...

It looks like they got their hands on a raccoon that was killed in a trap and posed it in front of something power-y looking. Smells more like a cover-up than ever. @Jake: Sometimes I just gotta hit the 'Stop' button and cry to the elevator music for an hour or so...
  2:07am
JakeGould:

Yeah, sometimes I just curl into a fetal position and occasionally look up at the security camera… Tears in my eyes…

@Jake ;D

See: Manilow, Barry: "Mandy" for that Silkworm.

Ike isn’t here but this might be apt for him: Was walking near the south end of Sunset Park. The “weird” part near the BQE, train lines and near Bay Ridge. And there are huge megaphones playing played to death Christmas music to pretty much nobody.

Wait, I may be slow, but is Fountains of Wayne in Wayne, NJ?

One of the most saddest Christmas things I have ever seen/heard…

Bad Krampus Zero:

When I lived in Seattle one of the local movie theaters showed a double-feature of "It's A Wonderful Life" and "Holiday Affair" [with Robert Mitchum!] on Christmas. That was my Christmas tradition. One Christmas I also went to the Varsity Theater to see the new Gamera movie.

One Christmas the Young Fresh Fellows put together a two-night showcase at The Crocodile called "An Evenings In Edenbrook Forest." One of the Fellows had bought a set of godawful plastic medieval knight costumes at a thrift store and they needed an excuse to wear them during a show. That was the impetus for the showcase.

JakeGould:

Okay, that was a downer. How about the time 10 years ago when I saw a very realistic Santa with a roll of bills in Rockefeller Center almost getting into a fight with a parent?
Avatar 2:18am
Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: That's a lovely tradition!
And LOL @ the YFFs!
  2:19am
JakeGould:

BGZ, those are great memories!
Avatar 2:20am
Matt from Springfield:

@Jake: Shit, that's a downer...so much so that it would probably bring a smile to Andy Breckman!!
Avatar 2:20am
Bad Krampus Zero:

You can always count on Seattle's musicians to come up with top-notch shenanigans.

Don't fall into the "named show" trap, Therese!!
Some shows are good just as the host! Gaylord Fields, Irwin, Irene Trudel, Scott Williams, Brian Turner, etc.

Saint Therese's Sacred Songs

JakeGould:

Seriously, as a Jew-boy raised in Brooklyn my memories were just tons—and I mean TONS—of buildings filled with those electric Menorahs that have the orange light on them. I mean that’s my Hanukkah Harry memory right there.

“Working Tomorrow, Up Now” with Therese

P-90:

I thought "Therese" was a good name. Are there any good nominations yet? That convey the spirit/style/vibe of the kind(s) of name you're looking for?

Bad Krampus Zero:

"This Week's Model"
Avatar 2:26am
Matt from Springfield:

And here's Chris Stamey! (Type of the devil...with friends, Peter Holsapple is almost certainly one of those friends! As a dB maybe that's implied even..)
Avatar 2:27am
Matt from Springfield:

Following California's recall procedure, I vote "No" on changing the show name, but if it is changed, I vote in the 2nd question for: "Nothing Succeeds Like Therese".

Oh boy, National Lampoon and their shenanigans!! ;)

Damn, I was flossing my teeth, and missed the mic break, I'd go w/ Jake's suggestion.

I want a Kung Fu Christmas too. How about Therese's Kung Fu Christmas with your host Therese?
  2:35am
rw:

Okay that was stupid. I'd like to retract.
  2:35am
JakeGould:

Another idea on the same theme, “Therese’s Morning Night.”
Avatar 2:35am
Matt from Springfield:

I could second BGZ's choice if it was phrased
"This Week's Model, with Therese".
Avatar 2:36am

"What's Your Damage?"

P-90:

"Nightlight with Therese"
"Way Past Bedtime with Therese"
"Weekend's End with Therese"
REALLY: What's wrong with "Therese"? The show doesn't have a "theme", which is really what a cute title communicates.
The identity of the show is your tastes and personality, like Gaylord's and Irene's and Irwin's shows; and those are some of the classiest shows, like this one. Sorry, but "Therese" is the classiest name you could have, and maybe the best. just sayin'
Avatar 2:50am
Matt from Springfield:

Hear hear P-90!
Like you my first choice is the current one: "Therese".

[I hope Therese has the Star Wars Christmas record nearby]
  2:52am

There's a Star Wars Christmas record?
  2:53am
JakeGould:

“Irish Exit with Therese” Also, please no Star Wars. Only real stuff. A Gloria Parker is amazing!
Avatar 2:54am
Matt from Springfield:

@Jake 2:51: Another good nom for my second choice.

Christopher Guest - I was wondering if he was on that Lampoon music track :)

@Jake: I like that, too. =)
  2:58am
P-90:

You could call it "Stan", but that name's taken.
"The Glow in the Dark" or "Glow in the Dark Music"
or "The Glow in the Dark Radio Program with Therese"
"Redeye Radio"
I'll keep it in mind, @Therese. Have a FAB holiday!
Avatar 2:59am
