H'Irene! Even though I hear your weather is frightful, your WC Fields clip is utterly delightful. Thanks for the smile!

The DJ Irene "Live" experience! Still getting used to it. Good Evening all. Blustey day in NY/NJ.

Usually offline well before now. Must sign off and catch archives when I can, but wanted to say "hi!" in real time for once and send special shout-outs to Van and to Sean in UK. Sean, kiitos for your kind Christmas card and be on the lookout for a packet arriving soon on your side of the Pond! ♥

(P.S.: I heard that BD is covering FS. Will surely be an interesting Valentine! :)

I'll be over across the room folding laundry while listening. Irene, you have quite a task in front of you tonight to match what Jeffrey did this week.

Echoing what Kat said, I also would love to send a special shout out to SEAN for the Christmas Card!!! Thank you so much!!

HI Kat and blee and P-90 and Van and everybody else. Glad to have you listening in on a blustery day. Let's get all snuggly with the music tonight.

I thought the donation thingy was always there at the top? It's not there. Sad. I was gonna make you an offer Irene. Donation for KaTe's "December Will be Magic Again" because, well, it's December and all.

Your music is so special tonight. Really beautiful show. Did you used to be on in the afternoon? Love the W.C. Fields clip, too!
It's such a nasty night, my flight back to NJ was cancelled so I'm listening to you from Chicago, where it's snowing!
Avatar 9:38pm
Jeff:

I'm still getting used to the idea of the Evening Irene, but y'know, I think it's an idea which really works. It's a good hour for Irene sort of energy (at least for me as a listener); I hope you're feeling comfortable in this slot.
  9:42pm

You did used to be on in the afternoon--you dug up that Carl Sagan remix when I mentioned it, remember? You sound good no matter what time you're on, anyway!

You always provide a wonderful soundtrack for whatever time and day it is and it always feels like home when I hear your voice, but I'm really digging catching the whole show uninterrupted and from home.
Avatar 9:52pm

To be completely fair and transparent, I will always err on the side of Irene's show though.

Against anybody's.

So there's that.
Avatar 9:55pm

It is lonely here. This time of year, ladyfleep has to play elf to her boss, a show business potentate, who lavishes gifts on his famous clients. She spends long late hours wrapping and shipping expensive stuff none of them really need. So you are my company. And this music is warm and comforting.

......and I'm about the most eclectic musical listening person you are ever likely to encounter.

Well, considering this place, maybe not. :)
Avatar 10:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Van: Some hosts here are super eclectic, whereas others are not. SM Ken is...completely and thoroughly SM Ken. No matter how eclectic you might measure his programming to be, he's still completely Ken all the time.

Hope that paradox was half-coherent... :)

And, of course there are exceptions to every exception to every rule, as a rule. Some episodes and items on Ken's show I have quite enjoyed over the years. My $0.02. YMMV.

I've tried. But during Ken's show? Great time for catching up on Archive! :) (for me)
Avatar 10:23pm

Some live shows just gotta yield to Archives - otherwise how would you catch up and re-listen to the great moments here!
(Since Dave Hill's on Monday now, BT's show might make a great new Wed morning Archive...)
Avatar 10:24pm

Honesty for me, Ken's show is this: Play bizzaro music you have never heard of while posting the same animated gif's already posted a million times before.

I don't think Ken has ever played a single musical artist I like. Not one.
