I nearly played that Where's Julie song
Avatar 4:20am
Matt from Springfield:

That's a catchy one -- apparently "Paul West and His Mood" was a Northern Irish (!) power pop band called The Tearjerkers, who had broken up and legally couldn't release under that name. Now I want to find more stuff by them.

ABC-Dunhill records--getting in touch w/ your Inner Pidge! ;)
Avatar 🦇 4:21am
Julie:

It's Genesis, I play them all the time!
Avatar 4:23am
Matt from Springfield:

Of course, though I didn't know they were once on ABC-Dunhill!

Good choice in Micah for your fill-ins too -- I referred to his residency as "Dark Micah the Soul". He also did some installments of "Micah-stle of Quiet" late Tuesday.

Matt from Springfield:

Never listened to the whole Quadrophenia double album, though I'm intrigued enough to give it a try.

Once Tom Scharpling played the last half-hour of his show with side 3 or so from Quadrophenia - the "Love Reign O'er Me" riff occured in various places before the actual song, as a theme. Working its way up to this song, which I think was an album finale.
Avatar 🦇 4:55am
Julie:

We have a deluxe with extra tracks on it too
Avatar 4:56am

But of course - I trust FMU to be stocked up on all the bonus tracks! Even special Japanese-only box set bonus tracks! ;)

Molly Bloom's soliloquy:
"...I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish Wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes."
Avatar 5:09am
Matt from Springfield:

@Julie: Me too. I think finally being able to sing The Sensual World to the Ulysses passage that inspired it was the main reason for recording Director's Cut to begin with. Easily the highlight, though there are a few other interesting versions of earlier songs on that one (Street Fighting Man/Rubberband Girl mashup...)
