I darkly vow to visit the darker Vows.

Julie, would never have heard Vows but for you and 'FMU. A musical education continues. Here, have this highly-polished apple:)

Oh heck you played Strange Boutique. I have an LP from them. I don't remember much from the gig except that I was in a certain form of ecstacy. Hard-driving.

Oh, yes.
Avatar 5:18am

gotta say, julie, you've been posting some great stuff on faceborg

"Pandaimonium" -- looks like the original spelling, the capital of Hell in Paradise Lost, pan daimonium (all the demons).
Avatar 🦇 5:21am

this band was supposed to be on the show tonight too but it didn't work out. They should be coming in late June.

Sem Chumbo:

@FVH: "Bar devoted for the band they chosed to honour"
Google Translate strikes again. But then, Estonian (& Finnish?) tough to get into English, I guess.
Avatar 5:34am
fred von helsing:

Yeah google mangles both of them pretty badly. They are effectively code talking for the 21st century.
Avatar 5:34am
Matt from Springfield:

"Every drink is a Black Celebration!"
Avatar 5:44am
fred von helsing:

spent yesterday afternoon exploring a "genre" called "seapunk". The "design" trend has already peaked and the music is hit-or-miss but the basic aesthetic is silly and tiki-compatible and does appeal. Not sure I could get away with turquoise hair tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
Meghan:

This seems more techno than goth.....
Avatar 5:46am
Matt from Springfield:

"seagreen punk", "seapunk green"...
Avatar 🦇 5:46am
Julie:

I would say industrial, but they are on the goth comp, and heck it's athan maroulis
Avatar 5:47am
fred von helsing:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Avatar 5:47am
Matt from Springfield:

@Meghan: But, it is Athan Maroulis--legend behind Black Tape for a Blue Girl and many other gothy/industrial projects.
Avatar 5:48am
Matt from Springfield:

Yeah, what Julie said. And "they are on the comp"--the faceless creators behind the infinite numbers of goth comps don't lie!..

@FVH: Well lookie there! :)
Avatar 🦇 5:49am
Julie:

I knew Meghan would nitpick somewhere!
Avatar 5:49am
fred von helsing:

Speaking of seapunk... Mermaid Parade ? I wonder if it's worth a trip. Being a wee bit obsessed with mermaids and all.
Avatar 5:49am
Matt from Springfield:

"You are in Theme-Violation Court, Julie: DEFEND!" ;)
Avatar 5:50am
fred von helsing:

maybe it was ingothstrial
Avatar 5:50am
Matt from Springfield:

Oooh, band with question mark in their name!
Avatar 🦇 5:51am
Julie:

There's a lot of industrial/goth overlap.
Avatar 🦇 5:51am

With a Master of Science in Ingothstrial Engineering, you can increase the efficiency and quality of musical output, as well as trance out dancing for hours at night..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am
Sem Chumbo:

@MFS: guess they couldn't figure a way to work in an umlaut.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54am
Meghan:

I used to go to a club that in the back was the the goth/industrial room and the other room was techno/rave..... I would giggle at the goth/industrial kids... stomping around. the techno room was more fun.... but maybe if it was 3 years earlier I would have love it. I was dreaming of the Hacienda at that point....
Avatar 5:55am
Matt from Springfield:

"How Soon Is Now?" is a great *depressing* song though, that's what's important :)
Avatar 5:56am
fred von helsing:

I'd love to hear some Mermaid Parade stories... it does look like quite the saline festival
Avatar 5:57am
Matt from Springfield:

@Sem: Well like any process, you can throw an umlaut on anything easily, but will it improve the product or just throw it off balance? A fine placement Amon Düül, or a thoughtlessly tossed together "Mueertly Crueee"...
Avatar 5:58am
fred von helsing:

"There's an um-laut on your vow-el, whack it off !"
Avatar 5:58am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Julie! You (along w/ Cruel Britannia) have made World Goth Day an annual event for me!

Have a great Thursday (and Friday! and weekend!), everyone!
