Howdy Irwin. I kinda suspected this music would be your Bat-Signal...

Wait, what? There's a good show following The Spazz nowadays? Curse me for a fool, not double-checking the new schedule!

Hey, I boated inta Seattle today for the first time since July (aside from a airport trip in October).

Avast! No free food booty tonight? Aye mates, I sat through that jazz thing! And those modified piano songs! And the math rock!
Pass the grog, landlubber!

It was the annual Christmas dinner at McCormick & Schmick's -- tight shoes, no pussy, and a cold place to sleep at the bottom of Davy Jones' locker. Aaahrrrrrr.
Avatar 1:01am

pss, You boated over just to eat at McCormick & Schmick's?! Is it that good? What an odd dress code: ill-fitting shoes.

How can I answer? I'm being amazed by awesome radio.

It's a holiday tradition. Shopping and a meal at someplace with wooden booths and upscale entrees.

PSS you know better than to eat anything from the Pacific now going forward. Those days are over. Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger and not prone to alarmism. China has already banned importing the big oysters from Washington for radioactive related arsenic.

sorry i missed the lizzy but i've kinda been obsessing on this bowie song lately. glad yr on the reg sched nick!
Avatar 1:08am

I shouldn't talk -- I'd come that way to go to Sawatdy at Miller and New Brooklyn Rd. No booths, park in a gravel lot.

Bowie was such a card after he ditched Lou Reed and started hanging out with Iggy and a bunch of proggers.

really enjoying the show, nick
Avatar 1:14am

Can't eat the seafood because it's radioactive. Can't eat the landfood because it's genetically engineered. That's why I love beer: neither animal nor vegetable. Always safe and healthier than the alternatives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16am

I'm advocating the moonshine diet -- nothing but pure, un-aged corn distillery.

@droll I heard you share your weakness for those dark hops and barely malt earlier today...won't be long till Monsanto has that market under their thumb as well. Drink now while the drinking is good :)

This Williams Fairey Brass Band sounds like Moondog.

@PSS North Carolina is still a viable source for the mason jar set of mash perveyors. I live in upstate NY (lived in NC six years) and ran across a guy in Albany that brings back a case of mason jars full every trip back to NC to visit his wife. He's working construction up here for the job. It's good stuff.

Seattle is blessed with good local beer and there's a reason we're leading the way on legal weed. Funny how food and drugs are the last things to still be regional. It took months for the cronut to get here. It wasn't even worth the wait.
Avatar 1:34am

If Washington oysters were actually radioactive, I'd be Doctor Manhattan by now. It sounds like China trying to boost local product.

When the foodie news stories about cronuts started appearing, I thought, "Oh dear, they've found a way to make Krispy Kremes seem even more trendy."
Avatar 1:39am

This particular oyster, I forgot the name, is sold from the bay area in Seattle mostly to China. They can weigh up to 10 pounds each and they live up to 100 years.

@PSS I'll never forget my first Krispy Kreme. It was the Deleware State Fair in 2002. It was hot and fresh and freakin' melted in my mouth. The company is headquartered (or was) in Charlotte, NC. Down there they have a neon "hot" sign in the window to let the fans know it's 'Doughnut Time!'

Nice album cover. Looks a lot like felt markers, some of the best mentally ill artists work is done in felt tip, nothing even comes close to the honesty of that combination.
