	4:36pm Cecile: It was pretty great. Lots of nice homemade kimchee. Its' this standard lunchtime Chinese-ish cafeteria joint, but on Friday, they bring out the Korean dishes - jop chae, kim bob, bi bim bap.
	4:37pm Carmichael: Cecile, aren't those the names of the Amazing Carnac's 3 children? He said it on Johnny Carson one night.
	4:37pm Caryn: I can get behind Cecile's adoration for both Lorns. Especially the first one.

	4:38pm Cecile: hahahahahah, carm, I dunno. But we did have a terrible Carnac impersonator (aka the staffing manager) show up at a team meeting last week. The younger folks were appalled. They were right.
	4:39pm Carmichael: I lived in Korea for a while, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I am a kimchi fanatic to this day, as well as almost anything that ends with "gogi".
	4:40pm Cecile: I think in Korea it's not really an actually dish - more like fridge leftovers on rice topped with a fried egg. Nice leftovers, for sure!
	4:40pm Ike: Caryn, bi bim bop can be excellent, especially if mixed up properly, and done in a stone bowl with crunchy rice bits at the bottom.
	4:41pm Cecile: Carm, some writers call it "the meat and potatoes" cuisine of Asia. I do know a lot of people here who don't dig other countries cuisine do love Korean. Must be all the beef.
	4:41pm Cecile: Well, no stone bowl, but fresh homemade hot sauce and kimchi.
	4:41pm northguineahills: I spent a week in Korea in 1989. I was 13 and spent hours upon hours at the video arcade, since most games were the equivalent of 5 cents.
	4:42pm Caryn: Okay, based on a quick wikipedia perusal, the "dolsot bibimbap" variety sounds the best, and also seems to coincide with Ike's one.
	4:44pm Cecile: plastic bowl bi bim bap is pretty good too. It's hard to mess it up.
	4:44pm Caryn: I wonder where the closest Korean restaurant is? I'd probably have to go all the way to Helsinki for that.
	4:44pm Carmichael: I was there for 1979-80. Lots of fun, especially the energetic fumbling attempts at Western culture. They love to party, without all the self-loathing of other Asian cultures.
	4:46pm Carmichael: Caryn, there's one in Vammala. Is that any closer?
	4:48pm Caryn: @Carm: actually, that's about 3 hours further away than Helsinki. But it is where part of my family's from. WTH, there's a Korean restaurant there? It's in the middle of nowhere!
	4:49pm Cecile: hey, there's a Jamaican restaurant in the middle of the woods in northern MN. The cook is married to a MN lady. Wonder if the same thing happened there?
	4:51pm Carmichael: It's called Pahaolo, on Ohjansuunkatu. Found it on Foursquare. Man, the streets all have long names!
	4:53pm Cecile: I have this David Sylvian album!
	4:54pm Caryn: @Cecile: probably. A little googling tells be that as late as 2009/2010, there was only one Korean restaurant in the entire country. Now there seem to be about 3-4 places in Helsinki (only one is an actual Korean restaurant, though), and a couple elsewhere. All on the other side of the country, though. @Carm: Pahaolo? Ooh, here's hoping that's an ironic name...
	4:55pm Carmichael: Everyone at FMU just loves Parmegiani. I heard him on Fabio and Dan Bodah recently, and I think Bryce is a fan too. And me, too!

	5:00pm Caryn: @Carm: yeah, KH is still the only Korean restaurant in Helsinki. There are also 2 restaurants that serve Korean and other Asian foods, and one Korean coffee house, apparently.

	4:36pm Cecile: It was pretty great. Lots of nice homemade kimchee. Its' this standard lunchtime Chinese-ish cafeteria joint, but on Friday, they bring out the Korean dishes - jop chae, kim bob, bi bim bap.

	4:38pm Cecile: hahahahahah, carm, I dunno. But we did have a terrible Carnac impersonator (aka the staffing manager) show up at a team meeting last week. The younger folks were appalled. They were right.
	4:39pm Carmichael: I lived in Korea for a while, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I am a kimchi fanatic to this day, as well as almost anything that ends with "gogi".
