Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Mike: Sounds amazing, try not to miss that! I barely missed Colin Hay of Men At Work last year at my local record store on RSD. And he was said to be in "an emotional state" because his bandmate had just died a couple days before...

I don't know, hippos swirl their tail around when they defecate, spraying it everywhere.

The 'domesticated' one I saw showcased in Nat'l Geo met an untimely end in South Africa. (not in the episode)

However, there is a species of pygmy hippo. Just need to selectively breed them until you get one the size of a spaniel.

Partridge still quite busy musically - look for it. Colin - not so much it appears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
G:

He's in better shape then Peter Murphy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
Caryn:

Considering hippos kill more people than any other African animal (apart from disease-spreading insects etc.), I'm a wee bit concerned about this. But for now, the hippo seems happy enough, watching some tv, eating from a bowl, hanging out.
Avatar 3:42pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Dunno if anyone knows: Saloman does a radio show The Scene - I hear it on WMBR on Friday mornings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm

Where does a hippo watch tv from? Anywhere it wants to? Is there room on the couch?
Avatar 3:45pm
steve:

i wonder if the hippo owners have seen Grizzly Man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Caryn:

@G: it just stands there, by the couches. There are some blankets on the floor, but I doubt it lies down to watch. I suspect those are more in case the hippo is not as housebroken as it should be.

Happy birthday. Matt! Or hyvää syntymäpäivää!

Hip hop is hip hop. Quelle surprise! Hippo is virtahepo ("river horse", which is what hippopotamus means). Hippy? Hmm, that depends. If you mean, as in "hippie", then it's hippi. Really not a lot of difference there.

Matt, ditto the BDay salutations. Yeah it's always wonderfully weird to see or hear FMUish things presented to the masses. On the hippo side, one of my sadder moments was taking my infant daughter to the soon to be closed Prospect Park Zoo in '88. They had an elderly hippo who struggled to make it up the ramp from the water.
