From Bandcamp: "In addition to being the lead guitarist for rising Manchester band Duvet, TTSSFU aka Tasmin Stephens (she/they) has been recording, producing, mixing and mastering all their own music on Garageband since they fell in love with classic shoegaze music as a teenager. Spending the past three years self-releasing a steady stream of singles and EPs, Stephens’ latest work - ‘Me Jed and Andy’ - represents their most musically and conceptually ambitious set of recordings to date."

Eggplant goes well with Italian tomato or Indian curry sauce - are you trying more of a Thai/SE Asian curry with lemongrass? I haven't had it in that manner before.
(Incidentally, just last night I decided against trying a 'chicken and eggplant' dish from a Chinese restaurant - because the pic showed soggy looking eggplant soaked in soy sauce, didn't look like an appetizing preparation).

A friend of mine, who's been vegan for ~40 years, goes to a vegan place in San Fran a couple of years ago. The waiter tries to ascertain his likes and limits, and my friend is all, "Well, I'm strictly vegan except for honey."

Waiter says, "Ah, you're a beegan."

Mind. Blown.

Yes, the emergency silence indicator and the backup iPod!

But I wonder how that doesn't get triggered more often - with double fade outs, space before hidden tracks - maybe DJs skip a bit of silence to avoid setting it off. I know that BBC radio has silence detection, they reported disabled it to "play" a version of "4'33" ".

Hi Handy. Yes, the new lp is called Hey Panda, they played some songs live from that as well as oldies but goldies, love them all.

Oh, speaking of Echobelly, they were playing at the Roundhouse the same night I went to see Judie Tzuke (in Twickenham at the Exchange). Hate it when there is everything at once and one cannot be everywhere. Debbie from Echobelly/Curve was in the interesting documentary Rebel Dykes, tracks from her old band (the name escapes me, correct me if I am wrong but they did demo tapes only I think) were part of the soundtrack. (I am ashamed to say I don't know much re: Echobelly but was definitely interested to see them live)

Now that's a perfect lineup. Sean O' Hagan was supposed to help Brian Wilson out with songwriting - this was not BW's idea but The Beach Boys' so apparently he was slightly annoyed. However he was very enthusiastic when Brian realised Sean O' Hagan was "the Hawaii guy" ( his words apparently). Hawaii is good but a bit overlong in my memory, Snowbug is my favorite.

The Melkbelly you played earlier jumped out at me and I did laugh when you remarked that the sound was so nineties- I thought it sounded similar to Radio Iodine (nineties), a band whose sound I somehow latched onto together with Garbage and Curve but I never heard of Melkbelly til now! Thanks!

One super funny Kenny G stunt radio story:

He decided that he'd spend an entire show slooowly turning down the volume of the music he was playing, to make the listeners wonder if they were going crazy; but the station's inline compressor/limiter just compensated and kept the volume people heard completely consistent.

Joke's on... who?
