Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
Hello Gaylord! I will be catching Nate K's gig tonight so I will sadly not be able to listen to your show live. I'll go straight to the archives tomorrow though!

Didn't McCartney write this?

I need to lodge a complaint with Ken. I simply don't have time for this, a Gaylord show that fully occupies my dinner time, vanquishing all freedom to make dinner!
Aha, I thought this broadcast sounded exceptionally cinematic, and lo & behold, it's the master himself! Great to hear you as always, DJ! Glad to have tuned in.
It was so very poor that it could become entrancing.
Hatch himself was the "cruel" judge on a TV talent show, but at least he was a musician unlike Cowell who was a grifter mogul specialising in novelty acts (kids tv puppets etc).
But yeah brit obsession with how shit it is 'for the win' I suppose
I didn't know their new album was out yet. Their prior one came out in 2000, which is probably when I saw them perform at the Woman's Club of Manasquan.
(glad i caught your fill-in ,and please accept my apologies for the "dubstep ftw" comment) -- my apps got away from me and i was listening to a dubstep station and didn't realize it, and
Happy Birthday! hope it was great, and i was happy to hear you again! it's been too long.

Theme for a shit daily teatime soap mainly noted for it's extremely low production values from more than half a lifetime ago.
You really do hear everything on wfmu.
Didn't know Macca'd covered it tho
There's a line in a Fall song that, supposedly/possibly/perhaps, references it & i'd wager a day's pay that Half Man Half Biscuit mention it too.
