haven't had a drink there in a few years now...oddly. gone in 2-3 times to say hi to people.
my guess is it's continued the unfortunate transformation from "scary" smelly dive bar where everyone is welcome if you're not a dick and you'll get the shit kicked out of you if you make fun of Ludwig...to a clicky, snooty, "politically correct" "we like to be called a dive bar because it's fashionable to hang in a dive bar" bar.

...Life is Beautiful!
  4:53am
Blissland:

↳ coelacanth∅ @4:50
it's become a real challenge for me to rationalize. I suppose certain things arguably are beautiful. But in a fundamental way I have turned against the principle of life itself. Which I know is a total paradox

it's complicated. I think I am completely against life now in principle. I'm disgusted by the competition and especially the perverse extremes that human beings have gone to. Well if you look closely enough at nature, that's all it's doing. It has no inherent purpose other than to perpetuate itself. And the whole thing is a struggle to attain resources. Human beings have grotesquely exaggerated all that, but behind the religions and philosophies it's still utterly meaningless. Except maybe for love, if it's even possible
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am
coelacanth∅:

↳ Blissland @5:01
i don't agree that the perversion that humans have made of civilization means Life itself isn't Beautiful.
yes, all animals are born selfish (including humans) -i don't think that necessitates a lack of beauty.
cats and dragonflies are highly skilled hunters, selfishly taking what they think they need without any empathy whatever.
as nasty as that all is i think there's a profound beauty in it. in their movement; in their skill.
humans may be harder to find the beauty in, in general; but there are many exceptions, in many regards.
  5:11am
Blissland:

↳ coelacanth∅ @5:08

...i might not have any hope for myself in the future; and fully expect this world to be a living hell for the vast majority of people within just a few years from now. 15-20 maybe.
i wont be here.
still it doesn't negate seeing the Beauty still available.
art, Love, sex, conversation, trees (what's left of them), birds, dogs, a skilled gymnast, a skilled truck driver, what happens when you drop a shot of whiskey +bailys into a pint of guinness...

It’s not easy because people fall into mental ruts regarding past events. Try thinking about events from the other person’s perspective.
