this must be the place! I'd been driving around with Shut Down Vol 2 in the CD player. It's a fine album but I got tired of hearing "Old Betsy" in my head. I switched it with the Hollies and feel much better with my brain playing "Very Last Day".

I think of a paradox as something challenging to understand, often due to the limitations of a paradigm. For example, the way scientists struggled with the concept of a wave and a particle describing the same phenomenon. The paradox arises only because of a pre-conception of reality

The solo albums just don't have enough diversity. Beatles group albums are great because you have a mixture, whereas two sides of just John or just Paul or just George is just not as enjoyable, to me, anyway. Plus with Beatles group albums you were getting the best songs out of each one, whereas the solo LP's have a good bit of filler and songs that seem like just filler. Just my opinion, of course.

One aspect of the Drake book that is interesting is that for many who knew or worked with Drake, he quotes was said or published before and also let those folks still around speak to what was said before and update their impressions and thoughts.

So far I've jumped to the bits I was most curious about, will later read it cover to cover, along with the family album book, "Remembered For A While" that Drake's sister did. Took me so long to reply cause I was looking for the book Gabrielle Drake book. It's buried somewhere around here.

Catching up on catch-up... Loved the show and that Fuchsia caught my ear because I've just been on a Peter Hammill/VdGG tip and thought "ooh, I've never heard this before!". Very much PH's voice, even if not quite the precision of his delivery.
On the subject of spelling "Fuchsia" though, the messed up thing is that we pronounce it as we do: that is the correct spelling, from the surname Fuchs - so we should presumably really pronounce it "Fookseeya". Or change the spelling...
