Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from June 7, 2024 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I’m sitting in stopped thruway traffic. Pile-up somewhere ahead. Google estimates the delay at an hour and a half. It’s 82F in the exhaust fumes, my a/c doesn’t work a damn, it’s starting to rain and, yeah, I gotta pee. I’d definitely not rather be on a bike, nope, not me. But I got my WFMU bucket hat on and Hinky Dinky Time on the stereo, so ok.

Did not Unbound. Took the bike out to KC on the train. Put it my buddy’s truck and we headed out to central KS camping and tooling around on the bikes. Mostly on the Switchgrass trail. Pretty fun trip. At one point we may have had some mushrooms, riding around on glowing gravel in the middle of the moonlight. Found some amazing tornado residue too.

I read this morning that a couple of europros got arrested for getting naked to wash up in an Emporia parking lot.
