More than 20 years ago I traded my first ever acoustic guitar to Patric Barber from the band Blowhole for this Harmony guitar and a copy of the Sun City Girls Grotto of Miracles LP. Not sure who got the better end of the deal. I love playing that Harmony. I even like listening to Grotto of Miracles. So I guess it was me."

Mostly within tolerances. The domestication of the dog proceeds apace. A couple of FMU listeners are due over here in a couple of hours. We're going to have a drink then go get a bite to eat before taking in some Greek gangster folk music around the corner. Today was the first day I hauled the laptop outside and worked there. The White Wind was blowing from beyond the Wall of Sleep. And the sparrows were in fine and horny fettle. Not too shabby.

I've tried the weights too but the plunger press works better. As long as the peppers stay submerged they will not mold. Sometimes some white mold forms above the plunger but that's harmless and easy to remove. I'm looking forward to this year's pepper crop.

Harmony guitars are magical. I don't know how they did it. They used so many weird cheap shortcuts in their construction but are somehow imbued with this magic where they seemingly guide one's fingers to make lovely sounds. I had a '62 Jupiter which I foolishly sold to Fred & Toody Cole at their store when I was a teenager and it's haunted me ever since.
