Musical theater from off the beaten path. Obscure and unusual show tunes from within the canon and without, flops, failures, and the newest works from up-and-coming artists—plus tried-and-true hits. Also, occasional appearances from songs that are not show tunes (but only if they go really well with show tunes).

Hi Bronwyn. Speaking of Hoof & Mouth, another DJ earlier this week played a funny version of the song "Spill the Wine" from an H&M and you were credited for playing flute on it! You sounded pretty good to me. My memory being what it is these days, I can't remember which DJ played the song this week (or which DJ did the singing in the performance) but I do remember that you were the flutist. (Maybe it was Mary Wing who played it. Don't quote me on that.)

It must be super daunting to try to translate lyrics by the great witty lyricists, your Gershwins, Porters, Sondheims, etc. I would imagine it's best not to try and just write your own lyrics.

If there's an actual play (and not just a recording), you can write lyrics that accomplish the same thing without trying to translate them, and at least it will work dramatically. Of course, there must be a Czech Cole Porter or a Mali Ira Gershwin who can make a great song without translating per se.
