David (in London):
Freq's one of the oldest proper music mags online, started in 1998. The editor, Richard, is a truly splendid fellow, who decided never to take the advertising / industry shilling and keep it amateur (in the best sense) and free of influence. It could probably have 'been the Quietus' if he had, but he's not interested in that, only the music. Tip of the hat to him.

Thanks for your help.

I've been reviewing John Robb's new History of Goth, so at a very different place on the musical continuum.

I play some trumpet on the forthcoming DAONA EP, and let's just say that the quality is at the opposite end of the spectrum from Smit's playing...

Been thinking not about levees this week so much, but certainly dams and other flood-control measures.
See you next week, Irene! xo
