While I was finishing up in the back yard, I was pondering something. You know that standee of EJ from the cover of his album "A Single Man" you mentioned you had? Well, it just occurred to me that Bowie struck a similar pose for the cover of his album "Earthling". Do you think that was Bowie sending a wink at his fellow UK performer, or was it just mere coincidence?

The local Hard Times chain here has a good Cincy chili as an option. Not the Texas purist one - it came from Macedonian/Greek immigrants to Cincinnati, so it's beef with cloves and seasoning in sauce (a nephew to moussaka), served on spaghetti usually, with cheese, scallions, jalapenos etc added on top as you wish. Tasty dish, but prob to you as "deep dish" pizza is to NYC - a different animal! :)

@NGH: "Spaghetti Midwestern"! Good term, that's a keeper!

that's why I can tell you what I had for breakfast for any given day. The problem is, I have to find a memorable reference point, and then jog my memory day-by-day to the intended day to find out. This can take hours (of usually subconscious) memory recall time, but it usually works...

Never did know why the subject was 'cactus cat' - apparently that's an old campfire story from the U.S. West. A mythical desert cat that claws open cactus water, lets it ferment, and sips it by night, whereupon it howls in the distance!

Part of their music video was indeed filmed in the U.S. Southwest.

Discogs brought this album to my attention last night in it's Spotlight section. And the reason seems to be because the "blue etching" copies are appreciating in value. I seem to recall that there were variant versions of the album covers using different colors for the same design. In one specific version I recall, the triangles were red.
