She's been the "gateway" for a number of listeners to the rest of the station! I was a dedicated listener when it was a Dark Night show. Then it went off, life caught up and I commented on fewer shows, then just got back into afternoon commenting the past year or so. But you don't need to convince me how great a show Julie plays! 🙂

"AWOL" is one word for it! When I first started my job we couldn't stream inside the building, just Archive listen. Now I mainly telework and the radiorethink stream works in the building (*most* days, yesterday our networks were all facacta..) I felt Danne D, swinging by many shows at Marathon time but not being able to comment as much as I wish!

Life gets a hold of people, with changes in show programming I think others lose their "core" favorites and are less inclined to comment. The Drummer stream is a great way to fit legendary shows back on the schedule (it's almost all shows now! When it started it had some weekday afternoon shows, and the rest of the time just was the huge automated playlist!)

The night shift is a tricky thing. Always fighting the natural circadian rhythms. At first, it did not bother me but after 5 years, I've had it! Also tough when commitments during the day prevent a full sleep cycle.

As long as you know your head from it...

In general, WFMU is *amazing* for friendly people and constructive conversations - occasionally some doofuses still land in the chat board but this is even harder to get to! A specialized "fan" stream.
