Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from April 14, 2023 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Part of a Verizon upgrade, a second, downstairs router. We didn't realize it also included dropping our land liness-our home phones were sitting quiet for a few days before we called and found out they were disconnected (we only got junk calls on it anyway).

I haven't set up NAS yet, but I do have the streamer connected, and do my FMU listening through it. It's not as high fidelity as, say SACD, but it's better than the laptop. I do either need some version of NAS, or smaller exteral hard drives for the Technics.

This would seem to be the venue for an account of my dream this past Monday night/early morning. A clean-shaven UM was hosting a performance by the Grateful Dead at "my" house (which was more like an expansive log cabin). My anticipation of being able to sit in with Dead was frustrated, because nobody would settle down, plug in, and start playing. Also, I bought beer for the show, but it was gone before I could have some. Last I recall, I left the venue to find a place to buy beer.

I recognized none of the members of my dream's iteration of the Dead, but Warren Haynes was in the band.
