On Record Store Day- They did June this year because of delays in vinyl production, gave themselves an extra date to meet production demand... or so they say! 😉
Avatar 🦇 7:36pm
Julie:

hiya BRM! Ah so it's not till June at all?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:37pm
B R M:

No they have a batch ready for April, then June for the second (delayed) batch
Avatar 🦇 7:37pm
Julie:

this might be a little acid-y I suppose

Hey Julie - always nice to hear you on the radio!

B R M:

"We’re also being proactive with designating an RSD Drops date on June 18. That will serve as a street date safety net, for titles that are part of the Record Store Day celebration, but for any number of reasons beyond controlling, can’t make it into stores on April 23. The List includes titles that are coming to record stores on Record Store Day in April and those that will be coming in June. As we become aware of issues for any specific title, that title will move to the RSD Drops date and you’ll see that on the List on the website."

heya KWilde! nice to be here!

The Liz Fraser EP is at the top of my RSD list... shed a tear of happiness when I saw that was coming.

Roberta is just on another level... love her... is it me or is she is super underrated?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
StringOFperils:

She was pretty prominent at the time. Maybe just a little forgotten now?
Avatar 🦇 7:53pm

I knew that song of course and her name, but growing up I don't remember seeing a lot of her. But yes, it's time for the resurgence!

late 60s production you can't beat it

I think that recording of Elton '73 first saw the light of day on a bootleg, Elderberry Wine, that later assumed the odd non-title (No Title) when Amazing Kornyfone issued it. TAKL issues were ubiquitous in LA back in the day, but I don't recall ever seeing this one: https://www.discogs.com/release/15261681-Elton-John-No-Title-Recorded-Live-At-Hammersmith-Odeon-In-London

And now one of my all-time fave musicians, ever--Prince!
  8:39pm
Marie:

Yeah, your description of the prod. values is right on
Avatar 🦇 8:40pm
Julie:

I just feel like they experimented a lot back then, tossing in this instrument here, that one there. and songs travelled instead of driving in loops
  8:40pm
Marie:

Never heard this tune b4. I have to admit, I think I have not heard a lot of Prince's tunes

For instance, this bootleg of the complete Genesis Lamb performance in Birmingham features a piece by George Tooker.

@Marie I feel you...I have been on an absolute Bandcamp bender, it is actually a problem... too much good music out there. I spent a couple of weeks loading my vinyl collection into Discogs which was fine, until I realized all the records I sold off in college and all the ones I still wanted and then all the good new stuff, and... it's a problem! 🤣
