	4:16pm Funky16Corners: Yeah, this is a spectacular work. Composed for twin string orchestras, based on a 16th century hymn.

	4:17pm Funky16Corners: Previous to this, I only knew Vaughan Williams by The Lark Ascending and a few other things and this piece totally rewired the music centers of my brain.

	4:23pm Funky16Corners: I can understand why they used this in Master and Commander. Vaughan Williams has the strings swell, ebb and flow like waves, but there are moments that are elegiac, as if they had been composed for a funeral.
	4:25pm StringOFperils: In a way, all standard romantic film scoring is lifted from composers like Vaughan-Willams, Elgar, smetana, Strauss, etc...no surprise that Hollywood mines this stuff. Actually that's where some of them went
