	9:14pm WR: When looking to see which of Saville / Bagdasarian or Sheb Wooley were first with the slow / fast singing and I learned of Mike Sammes doing UK puppet show characters Pinky and Perky. Any y'all deep collectors heard any of those?
	9:14pm Xeres: Napoleon XIV was a pseudonym for Jerry Samuels. The B-side of this single - released in 1966 - was the A-side played in reverse. And the B-side label was a mirror image of the A-side.

	9:19pm Ellen: I grew up listening to Doctor Demento on the down low, hiding an ancient artifact of a transistor radio under my pillow. I had found it in my parents' basement and smuggled it upstairs. I got to tell this story to Doctor Demento himself, at World Con in Reno
	9:19pm WR: I forgot to add, it was at a Rolling Stones concert in about 1966. These guys were sitting behind us and started doing TCTTMAHH every time there was delay between bands.

	👻 9:25pm Austin Rich: True again: I have visited the Reed College station a few times, and we did a few hours of shows one night. Tons of fun. It's a tiny station... but we had a blast.

	👻 9:41pm Austin Rich: Earnestly, I hadn't given Allan Sherman much of a chance until Demento opened my eyes. I just thought he didn't have the same scope as a lot of other novelty artists, and I was sort of wrong. My bad.

	9:46pm Xeres: Dr. Demento has a cameo appearance as a bum in the official video for "Fish Heads." The song was first released as a single in 1978, before its video was made in 1980, when it was aired on Saturday Night Live, and was subsequently given heavy rotation on MTV. It's perhaps a bit romanticized version of him, but very charming, and his portrayer won an Emmy for it. Wow, I've never heard a Crispin Glover album, but I have heard that he is quite unusual

Xeres selected all the songs, but certainly, I was on board for all of these. There were a couple that I was unfamiliar with. The next two were new to me until Xeres hipped me to them.

	9:58pm Ellen: Seeing "b/w" in a lot of the descriptors makes me miss collecting 45s. I also had a couple ancient 78s. My dad had a 16 if I recall correctly. He's an avid collector with literally thousands of vinyl records.
	9:59pm WR: Mr. Custer was one of the first 45s I bought as a kid! This sounds different than what I remember. Looking to see if there were multiple versions or 60s years is too long to remember reliably.

	10:20pm Xeres: Red Ingle was frontman for Spike Jones & His City Slickers, until he quit in 1946 over a salary dispute, and formed his own band, Red Ingle & The Natural Seven. "Serutan Yob" is a parody of "Nature Boy," which in turn was written by Eden Ahbez and made popular by Nat King Cole in 1948.

Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

	9:14pm Xeres: Napoleon XIV was a pseudonym for Jerry Samuels. The B-side of this single - released in 1966 - was the A-side played in reverse. And the B-side label was a mirror image of the A-side.
