Hi Irenetics! Storm King is a great place. I like Maya Lin's Wave Field, when it was new you could walk among the waves which is really the right way to experience it.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Irene Trudel:

Hey Summer and Michael and Sylvia, WHenry, Brian and βrian! Yes, as Sean points out the dog's tail is wagging, the cow is mooing and I'm smiling at all of you who've pledged during the Hellraiser to raise us from the depths of financial ruin Thank you All so much!

Aw...you, Mr. Keepnews, pussy cat, and ridiculous mega-sculptures on the Flickr, I see. Now, if you were a genuine Smart Person (TM) like me, then for the Hellraiser, you would've linked to "Hitchcock", and then, surprise, it's Robyn.

We hope so, Sean!

Ooh, don't give anything away about Dune, Sean! I've heard great things about it and the soundtrack. We will see it soon.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

No worries there, Irene, Monsieur Villeneuve has done a magnificent job. If you can, check out the documentary’Jodorowsky’s Dune’,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
Irene Trudel:

Oh, yes! We saw that in a theater when it came out. Jodorowsky's vision for Dune would've been beautiful, but I'm not sure he would've had the financial backing to make it.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

Glad you are watching this on a big screen and not on a pay-per-view. I loved the director’s choice of Thespian folks, don’t want to give away names but wow, what a film that could of been
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

As in the doc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm
listener james from westwood:

Combining custom-made stringed instruments and Dune (no spoilers ahead!), the baliset Patrick Stewart played in (the outtakes from) the 1984 Dune was a modded Chapman Stick.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

Sean in Bristol UK: Jodorowsky's Dune no doubt would have been beyond outstanding, wow
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

and I dig Jodorowky's mystical casting techniques
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:19pm
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

I read about Jodorowsky turning down George Harrison, who was BEGGING to be cast in a film, but did not fit the spiritual requirements necessary

This Mommyheads track is a delight.

What an engaging'reconstructed' cover of Footprints! Lionel certainly has kept an ear to Wayne Shorter's beautiful exploration along with that from his own heart and soul!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
doctorjazz:

Ahhh, Statman, big fan (he just did a concert, I think at the Winter Garden or thereabouts...couldn't make it, a friend really liked it).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Irene Trudel:

prguitar, I love how Lionel can give his own Africanized spin on a well-known tune. doctorjazz, Andy Statman is playing a gig at Barbes Wednesday night. He apparently plays there once a month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm
doctorjazz:

(Think I must have almost all his albums-he's started playing some bluegrass again the last time I saw him, mixed in between the Klezmer).

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm
prguitar:

The Charles Street Synagogue.. about a block away from where I live.. He used to play there every two weeks for a time.. It's been a while now.. Unfortunately the timing of those consistent shows didn't fit with my work schedule.. I think Kenny Kosek played with him often! I first heard his name when I bought the "Doug Sahm and Band LP.. a gem of an album from the early 70's.. Kenny Kosek was on those sessions too!! Thanks for a great show Irene!! I'm always learning and inspired!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
Irene Trudel:

Thanks prguitar! Kenny is an old friend of Andy's, and he lives near my neighborhood. I think Andy's given up those synagogue shows in favor of the monthly Barbes shows. But I don't know that for certain.
