	11:13am Jeff Golick: Yeah, @TDK60, though as I forgot to mention last set break, Abrams came to NYC in the mid-70s, and helped set up an AACM chapter in the city then. CT was teaching at Antioch (and perhaps somewhere else) in the 70s...I think? He doesn't really show up in the lofts.
	🥁 11:14am DJpeterDE: Thinking about all the Muhal in my collection now, it's funny to reflect back on the first CD (still maybe my favorite): Hearinga Suite (Black Saint, rec. 1989). Back then I had to think carefully about what to spend my limited $ on, I read all the Downbeat reviews and had to assess whether I trusted the reviewer's assessment, etc. So for some reason the dB review of "Hearinga" convinced me to purchase it, enough so that it I asked a friend traveling to Washington DC to look for it at Tower Records.

I especially liked the Bird Song which took up most of the second side (although I could do without the opening poetry reading). 	🥁 11:14am DJpeterDE: Thinking about all the Muhal in my collection now, it's funny to reflect back on the first CD (still maybe my favorite): Hearinga Suite (Black Saint, rec. 1989). Back then I had to think carefully about what to spend my limited $ on, I read all the Downbeat reviews and had to assess whether I trusted the reviewer's assessment, etc. So for some reason the dB review of "Hearinga" convinced me to purchase it, enough so that it I asked a friend traveling to Washington DC to look for it at Tower Records.
