By Ash Wednesday 800 people were infected and eventually led to 50,000 infections throughout Louisiana.

	11:20pm Matt from New Orleans: Mardi Gras is a mess. All bars are closed as of Friday throughout the city. They even rescinded the restaurant exception that many bars had been approved for. Restaurants are open but no go cups. All retail alcohol sales are banned in the quarter but not outside of it. Bourbon street will be barricaded and they fenced off Claiborne Avenue under the highway. Yet the tourist agencies were still advertising for people to come as of not long ago. The mayor really has fumbled Mardi Gras. I’ll be staying home.

Bourbon street will be barricaded and they fenced off Claiborne Avenue under the highway. Yet the tourist agencies were still advertising for people to come as of not long ago. The mayor really has fumbled Mardi Gras. I’ll be staying home.
