'These Days' written by Jackson Browne when he was 16 or something...
Avatar 6:18am
TDK60:

I heard that melody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am
Jeffrey Davison:

Good morning Rev Rabbit! I'm guessing that the People Like Us comment just meant that version, and yeah, that song was a keeper. If you haven't heard the early demos, take a look for them. Browne hated them, but they're pretty damn good.

It's a banger! Always good to survive another week and enjoy the shrinkage with Jeffrey. NULSH! Ha, I heard a word yesterday that sums up These Days, "procrastilaxing" obv. for procrastinating AND relaxing at the same time

Niall, ArtXFM looks intriguing! Cheers fer' the nod.
  Swag For Life Member 7:37am

@Jeffrey yes indeed. I'll have to remind myself what the rest of the album is like. That particular track at least track has much of the vibe of Tim Buckley's mid-period greats (including his live recording with DT!). Gorgeous
Avatar 7:42am
Niall:

Nulsh: I've lived in Louisville a couple times and it was a boundless source of new home pride. Oldham's got a show on there, Tim Barnes, who's been on pretty much every album that matters in the last 25 years, and more. Artistically, the town punches way above its weight.
  Swag For Life Member 7:43am
jeremyo:

This Trees album, like so many things, reminds me of an old friend who introduced me to so much stuff I love thirty years later. He came across a private press album that had Dave Costa from Trees on it. It was quite good, but not good enough for me to buy off him when he found a second copy - just couldn't afford it at the time. Big mistake
  Swag For Life Member 7:45am

You're doing these "fair" isles proud today, @Jeffrey. Unlike a lot of their inhabitants
Avatar 7:45am

I think my first "what is with this town" moment in Louisville was when I went to an empty dub night at a local art space, where the DJ was playing crazy deep cuts on vinyl. Then I figured out that he was the bassist for the old 4AD band Dif Juz, haha!

  Swag For Life Member 7:51am
jeremyo:

Niall, Jeffrey, damn right! Haunted is the word. Mind you I've lucked into plenty of things too so I can't complain.
The album in question was Jeremy Harmer's. Somewhere I've got a cassette of it that Dave made me back in 1990... I don't think it's been reissued but you can hear bits here, and it's pretty good www.discogs.com...
It would have been worth the £30 for sure

YETI BOB:

I think my Dad had only 2 cassettes in his car - back in the early/mid 70s - one was "The Silver-Haired Devil and I" by Kris Kris, and the other was "Sweet Revenge" by John Prine. I know all the songs on those 2 albums backwards and forwards.
