Loud shows: John Zorn at the Painted Bride in Philly in the late 80s was painful. I used to be on the Parasol Records mailing list. That's been awhile back now. If they still did that maybe I wouldn't have totally missed the Velvet Crush shows in the Northeast in 2019. Bastards.

I saw Velvet Crush in July, 2019 at its reunion show in Providence. At the time, they expressed interest in playing some more gigs in 2020....then COVID :-(

Dino Jr. at the old Hammerjacks here in Baltimore was pretty loud but my loudest concert experience was standing directly in front of a giant speaker at a Pixies reunion tour concert. Sound felt like wind.

P.F. Sloan is very much missed. a true eccentric but a sweet man and a gifted writer. one of my faves of all time. Todd, do you still have the cassette of that interview we did with him in '85? I'd love to hear that!

Was able to get my "ear goggles" on and join in right when you were playing Velvet Crush. It made me think back to the times I saw them live back in ye 1990s. Saw them twice at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Man, those show were fun. I was such a fan!

Was just reading an interview with Mr. Sweet about his new record. He said it's his first where he plays all the guitar heard on the record, which maybe stupidly was a surprise to me. It's not like he's incapable. It's nice to have guitar ace friends, but he's got a sound himself.

R. Noel Fox:

I saw the most TERRIBLE screening of Brain Candy a few years ago. It was the original cut, with a bunch of unseen scenes, but the video was from some digital copy that degraded every time they played it. It was like watching a video on the internet in 1995, blown up for a screen. I can't understand why they didnt' just transfer it to a different format, and just splice in the shitty missing scenes to a good copy of the film. But it was hosted by Kevin McDonald, so that was cool.

I've listened to the soundtrack to this x-rated movie about a hundred times but have never seen the movie! For those in the know, is it worth checking out? Will I be scandalized? Will I end up clutching my pearls? ;)

Thank you for your attention to your radio show, Pseu. We, as a nation of WFMU listeners, are forever in your debt. Be well, everyone.

Oh, I just learned the the iconic Roxy Florist building in Bloomfield Center was demolished. A tragic fire destroyed the bulding about a year ago. They had a fabulous prominent Art Deco neon sign.
