*The late Rod Rogers (aka Rod Keith) was saxophonist Ellery Eskelin's father. Rod Rogers was involved with MSR Records, the vanity label in California that solicited songs from amateur lyricists and released them with "professional arrangements." Most were hilariously God-awful.
