Ha, Rich - exactly what one might assume! One that isn't Emory Cook!

There are other titles in this series - one is "Children's Music" - another is "Cocktail Music". I think this Spanish guitar balladeeere is famous; I forget who it is. Paco De Lucia or soebody similar...

I'll bet Emory Cook was deaf in his left ear.
Avatar 3:07pm
Kitten Sparkles:

I'll start collaging stuff w this soon - but the whole lp is like this! Jesus and Mary Chain's inspiration, perhaps?
Avatar 3:08pm

I'm definitely hearing some Animal Collective in this

More of tat album later - we're on a street car, now! Or were...

Hi Kitty and sparklers.

Oh, Hi there! Can chat more today cuz long pieces and an old Glossolalia collage or two.

Might play a little Michael Tyrone Boyd later... He used to be featured on David Liebe Hart's "Jr Christian Science Bible Lesson Show" on public access, the he got his own show. "Unique" guitar tunings...

I'm off today from my essential job, so I actually get to hang out here & listen to this show. Yay!👍
Avatar 3:26pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Listening to this show should be an essential job!
Avatar 3:27pm
Kitten Sparkles:

That silence was a lot longer on the original show - that was the one thing I edited for this one. I let it be dead air for like 30 loooong seconds...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Sem:

Headphones essential.
Tearing it up, is VIA.
Avatar 3:29pm
Kitten Sparkles:

A pretty taboo thing to do on live radio! I got a few worried calls.
Avatar 3:29pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Where silence is transgressive
Avatar 3:32pm
Kitten Sparkles:

I actually have no idea what I did on this collage, for the most part - street car, SFX lps, a Musique Concret thing w way too much french guy talking (the French love to hear french guys talking, evidently), and some kinda frequency thing... noy sure iif it's a radio or a weird synth type device. Long time ago.
Avatar 3:33pm
Kitten Sparkles:

But it was me solo w no Professor C, so there's nobody to ask. Oh well.
  3:33pm
Cheree July:

Agreed!
Avatar 3:34pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Watch out - low freq weirdness!
Avatar 3:35pm
Debbie Davenport:

I love hearing the technical details behind what we're listening to.
Avatar 3:36pm
Debbie Davenport:

Not haring those details, but reading them!
Avatar 3:37pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Wish I remembered more of em, but I'm really not sure how I did this bit. I think something to do w radio... like maybe tuning a side band of the station signal to where it did weird shit. I did that a lot on these shows. Sometimes cool stuff would happen
Avatar 3:38pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Mixing the station signal into the mix and tweaking it while on the air did this kind of stuff sometimes.
Avatar 3:39pm
Kitten Sparkles:

How'd that fly get in here?
Avatar 3:42pm

Yeah, sounds like radio frequency fuckedness going on
Avatar 3:45pm

Wow - seems like I've driven both listeners away!
Avatar 3:48pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Oh, shit - here's the "walking thru the Vegas casinos" tapes again! I remember playing those on this show now. That's some crazy shit, right there.
Avatar 3:48pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Thanks to Professor C for being brave enough to do that.
Avatar 3:49pm
Debbie Davenport:

It is and I didn't know the information about the casinos. Key of C?
Avatar 3:49pm
Kitten Sparkles:

They threw him out of one casino when they figured out what he was doing.
Avatar 3:49pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Yeah, no sharps or flats
Avatar 3:51pm
Debbie Davenport:

You'd never drive me away if you're talking about me as a listener. I struggle to know how to talk about some of this stuff and do more listening at times.

Oh yeah. that site's fantastic. I was recently going through some older radio collages I've done and remembered that I used to use the online version of the 435 Ham repeater out of LA quite a bit. It was a lively hubub of radio jammer troll activity.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm

Lots of gigantic Roland Kayn multi-LP sets in his discography in the 1970s/1980s, all going for damned $hundreds today. KittenSparkles, do you know if the many items I see on the Reiger-records-reeks label starting in 1995 are reissues of some of that old work? Would love to hear all that old vinyl but I've got no nil nada disposable income these days.

Ossie Oswald:

I used to spend summers at my grandparent's at the coast and my grandpa was a radio nut who'd have his scanner radio on all day, and if there was some kind of calamity, he'd throw us in the car and we'd go rubbernecking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm

He was a retired newspaper photographer, so his excuse was he'd take pictures for the beach town's little newspaper.

chresti:

Velly nice.
Avatar 5:45pm

Schnitzler is a fave of mine, along with Youngs.
Avatar 5:51pm
Kitten Sparkles:

I got to jam w Schnitzler once on an internet radio show I used to do in the late 90s/early 00s, on Spike Radio. Station sucked, but there were some cool things on it. Conrad sent me some CDs of sounds he made for the "jam" on a synth (unfortunately an 80s or later synth that sounds totally digital), and I talked to him via phone here and there during the show. Was a blast, I mixed in lots of weird shit so his digital synth stuff sounded less ike it sounded, and that was gonna be what I did anyway - live collage with his shit mixed in from those CDRs. I still have em..
