Hi folks. It's Monday and glad to be listening,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm

Welcome WR!
We have some flurries outside this evening...

Most of today in NY has been cold windy and raining. Good day to not go outside.

Have not heard this Brown / Hampel before. Very lovely.

Hello TDK60! Good evening

Hi WR, yes I'm in NYC; blustery rain day. .

I think Shooting at the Moon is overall my favorite Kevin Ayers album. Coxhill and Bedford add a dimension not on Ayers' other albums. Was just reading yesterday that the drummer Mick Finch disappeared from UK music circles after leaving the Ayers band. Hope it was for good reasons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
KimSorise:

That, WR and Joy of a Toy is amazing too
Avatar 7:40pm
TDK60:

Kim, how's Louisville? Followed it much this year, you know. / Good to hear this "Women" song again, and again...

Buckley, another distinctive lovely voice.
Avatar 7:42pm
TDK60:

Can only agree, WR. Special.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
KimSorise:

Thanks for asking, TDK60. People are exhausted and protesting - i think it will be 200 days next week. Another young protester was killed last weekend; that was hard for folks.
More Covid restrictions for the next 2 weeks. It's an American city... in the South

Sandy Denny, nice! Hi, Greasers!
Avatar 7:57pm
TDK60:

Thanks Kim. Didn't know about the death. Solidarity to the Breonna T./etc. movement. I heard about 25 protesters were killed this year. / Interesting Sandy D. "Late November"! I was listening to Irene Trudel today; who played some UK folk-rock. I said I also often play it this time of year too, Halloween to Yuletide.

My mistake to not dig Azteca in the 70s.
🥁 Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
WR:

Love that, from the porch to our ears.
Avatar 8:17pm
TDK60:

WR, never heard Azteca then! Am reading a book on the San Fran. '60s music scene from a political-radical angle, The Explosion of Dreams Deferred by Mat Callahan. There's a few Azteca concert posters in the illustration section.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm
doctorjazz:

Never heard them until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm
KimSorise:

I think we are all missing out not being Azteca fans until now - LP is from 1973
Avatar 8:20pm

The two concerts were benefits, one for the United Farm Workers union.

I worked in record store at that time and saw the record. Didn't pay attention to it. The Escovedo brothers put together an amazing band, many of whom soon became famous in other bands. Did not realize that until today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm

The song was by Coke Escovedo
