Skip season 1, the show hadn't gelled yet, much like The Office (U.S.) and they basically re-jiggered the whole thing in season 2.

But for Crete, IL, the name seems to have been selected totally at random. The story goes that the fellow who incorporated the town just opened the Bible to a random page and selected the first place name he found there.

But for Crete, IL, the name seems to have been selected totally at random. The story goes that the fellow who incorporated the town just opened the Bible to a random page and selected the first place name he found there.
