Thanks Danny yes "scopitone" must be in the search.
i confess i never heard of Sylvie Vartan before. ...but she looks a bit like a woman i saw on Benny Hill once, about 40 years ago!

Dano59:

IMDB: Directed by John Chapman, Chris Marker, Frank Simeone. With Arielle Dombasle. A short film that shows Boundless, Surreal objects that are juxtaposed with our present World. Cars, Motorways, noise of our modern society; A giant city in the distance - all that shrouds this lonely and forgotten island of Dreams. Filmed at the Emeryville Mudflats near San Francisco.
Avatar 10:36pm
Honeybear:

@danny - sure thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm

Junkopia sort of reminds me of the scene in Harold and Maude when they have a picnic in the junkyard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm

This Fred and the Jupiter Gypsies is one of the more inexplicable 45s I own. It's also from my ancestral homeland of central PA, otherwise a cultural vacuum.

Don't worry. This gets less harsh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
Franco Twinkie:

That would have been funny if I was still unconscious. I could hear the show but there was nothing I could do about it. It would've worked itself into my dreams I'm sure.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm
Dano59:

For some reason Jean-Michel Jarre keeps popping up in earshot usually on Youtube. At the top of some British pop show as a chart-topper before Berlin is introduced, last time.
I had the Oxygene and Equinoxe LPs as a callow youth and this sure reminds me of them...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm
Little Danny:

@Dano: definitely that commercial electronic milieu. Moroder-esque to my ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm
Franco Twinkie:

I have a more up to date Milwaukee. It's for shooting holes in tight corners. They really do work where you can't get a conventional drill to fit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm

i was kind of bummed when i first heard this song - demonstrating how one of my favorite bands, ooioo, stole it.

Maybe Odorama cards can be part of a future premium, Danny ... lessee ... paint; metal grinder on metal; greasewood and sage ... kerosene and vintage grease and "old car interior"

I'm unwittingly okay with a lot of stolen music, coela, but I know what ya mean.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm
Little Danny:

I need a dremel still don't own one. I can't quite rationalize it 'cause I have a buncha of electric spinning/oscillating tools that suffice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm
Dano59:

Smell-O-Vision was Waters' inspiration for the 'Polyester' gimmick; Also found a Smellorama episode of Bear in the Big Blue House ("Snook the skunk shows up for a day of scent discovery.")

haha Danny it was comical in a way (even though my favorite guy there, Malcolm, was in the worst shape of everyone).
there were a lot of illegal aliens there and once in a while some guy would show up and they'd all scatter. the high school kids from the year before me that stayed on were on various pills all the time. the hispanic ladies all wore way-too-tight designer jeans, to work the drill presses in.
and they'd all make fun of you if you used protective gear.
