The saffron you buy is real, and it's real expensive, but it's only sold in minute quantities. You can buy other less-expensive spices, like annatto, if all you want is the saffron color.

Its flavor is barely detectable, but it is noticeable, and it takes so very little to add subtle flavor and distinct color. And it's so dang expensive! If you look it up on wikipedia or another source, you'll find out why. All those little threads!

We don't have legal recreational pot sales yet, but Massachusetts does. The first time I saw the lines for the newly-opened dispensary in Northampton, I thought it was the line for a dance club or something. Cops were there, but not arresting people. They were there making sure the lines to get in were orderly. Cops helping people get pot. You read that correctly.

I'll also add that Massachusetts heavily taxes pot sales, and the tax revenue has given Northampton (and other towns with dispensaries) a much-needed boost to their coffers. More funding for all of the things a municipality provides to its residents and visitors.

I hadn't heard that since I've been so involved in refreshing my election results page. As for the outcome of that, I think we're good, Sheila! I feel very optimistic. And I look forward to our first female president.
	3:59pm ?: I had heard about the decriminalization. It is a big step in legal and social reform. As you say the drugs are readily available and making them legal won't effect they're usage. The DEA has reported that they stop less than two% of the drugs coming into the country after spending over a trillion dollars that could have been used for education and treatment. While the stigma and legal consequences have kept people from seeking help.

They suffer the most from the industry. A better solution would be to tax the fuck outta Phillip-Morris and their ilk. Except they have a powerful lobby. Not so for poor and working-class people. So, we have to consider that when we support certain policies.

I literally just came back from my corner store where I buy Apple iTunes gift cards like four times a week. My handful of favorite WFMU DJ's provide me with usually a $15 gift card give or take. And YES you are absolutely correct in your big tech sentiment. I'm trying to change my habits but I choose songs over whole releases - something I've found you can't do on Bandcamp - but maybe I'm wrong? I've been buying lP's and CD's en bulk for 35 some years. It's often a relief to just compile my own daily compliations plus the ease of not having to import a different file into my iTunes library. Love to hear any suggestions for altering my habits. Wonderful show! =)

The saffron you buy is real, and it's real expensive, but it's only sold in minute quantities. You can buy other less-expensive spices, like annatto, if all you want is the saffron color.

The first time I saw the lines for the newly-opened dispensary in Northampton, I thought it was the line for a dance club or something. Cops were there, but not arresting people. They were there making sure the lines to get in were orderly. Cops helping people get pot. You read that correctly.

The DEA has reported that they stop less than two% of the drugs coming into the country after spending over a trillion dollars that could have been used for education and treatment. While the stigma and legal consequences have kept people from seeking help.

So, we have to consider that when we support certain policies.

I'm trying to change my habits but I choose songs over whole releases - something I've found you can't do on Bandcamp - but maybe I'm wrong? I've been buying lP's and CD's en bulk for 35 some years. It's often a relief to just compile my own daily compliations plus the ease of not having to import a different file into my iTunes library. Love to hear any suggestions for altering my habits.
