Looks like it's gonna be a Cat 1, so not anything like what hit Lake Charles and that area, and it's expected to blow through fast and weaken as it makes its way east. Lotta rain and up to 75mph winds, not much flooding expected. Not good but not catastrophic.

	1:52am ultradamno: Yep, unless sharks become involved and then it's Peripsharknado, which is usually at the fringe of a Killer Whalicane.
	1:52am spodiodi: mariano, you must recall i was in sf -- we've moved a little south on the peninsula (after 24+ years in sf), over the past month. we still have our place in sf until halloween. i can't wait until things settle down -- it's been hectic
	1:56am spodiodi: near rwc, but in the hills a little (btwn 101 and 280 -- closer to 280) -- it's called emerald city. i was ready to get out of the city for a little while now. thought i'd end up only spending a year or two there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i'm slow
	1:56am mariano: They go out every night, spodi. I think there's some sort of power-saving schedule. And yes, of course, SF, duh! Now I remember chatting about it with you a few times, sorry! Whereabouts on the peninsula? My dad and stepmom used to live in Pacifica in the 70s. Ah, I see you preemptively answered the question!
	2:00am spodiodi: yeah, i was keeping my hat on it as not to jinx the move, but it's pretty much a done deal now... mildly sentimental, but really more relieved (sf has changed... a lot). Pacifica is nice. i have a couple of friends who i think still live there (it's been a while )
	2:02am spodiodi: ^ also i'm old now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -- i remember being excited to know you'd lived in sf too, when we first got to talking way back when-ish

	2:10am mariano: Yeah, I left SF in '98, like a lot of people apparently. Found out later that I was merely one speck of the mass exodus to NYC, a lemming convinced he had free will. I went to SF in 2014 for the first time since leaving, and since I was only there briefly and didn't have a chance to really see the extent of the change, it knocked my socks off (helped that I was visiting an ex-gf and we were having a blast). That's a city that can still make one hell of an impression. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to cope with the changes though long-term, same as pretty much everywhere.

	2:18am hilda,onreturning: HA! This was the first song I thought of for Halloween. Not just though. It's the scariest song I know and love. Thanks Tom!
	2:21am ultradamno: All the scariest songs for the season are on Horror Hop or Monster Bop...many of them are about all the monsters getting together...and having a party.
	2:21am TomDash: This song is, in fact, SO scary, that I couldn't get myself to play most versions with the long monologue about the murders...it is just too grizly! So I found this one, still disturbing indeed! "Drinking German Wine"...
	2:22am hilda,onreturning: Yes, the other version is Very Scrary.
	2:23am mariano: "Creep in the Cellar" by Butthole Surfers is nice and scary, with that backwards violin and schizoid lyrics ("There's a hole in his brain where his mind should've been"). It's like a 3-minute David Lynch movie.
	2:24am ultradamno: The one on the Very Friendly album, yeah. It's pretty rough.

	2:25am spodiodi: i hear you, mariano. i couldn't remember when you'd left, but kinda remember there being some overlap (i first came to visit in '94 and moved SoMa in '96). N.O. was a close runner-up (i nearly moved there at the time, instead of sf.) i don't think i would have been able to deal with the heat looking back on it. i do love the weather in sf and (mostly) around sf
	2:25am TomDash: i went down a Very Friendly rabbit hole on youtube and several live versions, including their last tour. All really good but all too graphic in the monologue! ha
	2:26am spodiodi: i forget where i first heard this song, but i love it, and i'm glad you're playing it now, Tom (i would have forgotten it, i bet)

	2:26am hilda,onreturning: The thing that makes TG's songs so scary for me is their matter of fact delivery, calm and refined. Whereas, BS and others are sort of well, trying too hard, theatrical, or something. But I also love really silly scary monster songs. What do I know?
	2:27am ultradamno: Do they use Little Drummer Boy in any of them? Always one of the more perverse details of those crimes. Cazzaza has a nice Mary Bell song. Leather Nun's Slow Death is a really good one too.
	2:28am hilda,onreturning: I think I've been down that rabbit hole Tom. I detest sadism and movies about it, but I love love love TG. You're right though, it can make me nauseous

	2:29am mariano: Yeah, spodi, SF weather is so good for walking and cycling. I had great legs when I lived there, lol.

	2:30am spodiodi: speaking of Leather Nun, i'll never forget the look on the clerk's face at the record store in the mall when my friend bought it and an andrew's sisters album at the same time at the mall in the mid 80s :)

	2:32am hilda,onreturning: :) They're just really good at what they do, I guess. Funny when they were first playing around, I didn't care about them - I wish I'd seen them (I don't think I did), but then punk late 70s was so exciting. I'm late to the TG party but no regrets.

	2:00am spodiodi: yeah, i was keeping my hat on it as not to jinx the move, but it's pretty much a done deal now... mildly sentimental, but really more relieved (sf has changed... a lot). Pacifica is nice. i have a couple of friends who i think still live there (it's been a while )

	2:10am mariano: Yeah, I left SF in '98, like a lot of people apparently. Found out later that I was merely one speck of the mass exodus to NYC, a lemming convinced he had free will. I went to SF in 2014 for the first time since leaving, and since I was only there briefly and didn't have a chance to really see the extent of the change, it knocked my socks off (helped that I was visiting an ex-gf and we were having a blast). That's a city that can still make one hell of an impression. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to cope with the changes though long-term, same as pretty much everywhere.
